2F - Extra Floor - Slayer

    Season 2: Ch. 36 (Chapter 115)

On the 2nd Floor, moments after Yu Hansung told Bam the conditions to be FUG's Slayer-Candidate, Viole, Jinsung steps forward to introduce himself as the FUG Slayer's new martial arts teacher. Jinsung tries to be nice claiming that there's no need for Viole to be angry as FUG's willing to give him anything. In tears, Viole tells Jinsung that he just wants to be strong enough so that he doesn't have to say goodbye to anyone else.

After his initial meeting with Viole, Jinsung has a meeting with Yu Hansung. Jinsung remains disinterested in the boy; explaining that after meeting Viole, the latter doesn't come off like a FUG Slayer. And that unlike Urek Mazino, who's a powerful monster, Viole's just an ordinary boy that happens to be an Irregular. However, Jinsung decides to go through with the training to see if he's wrong.

During training, Jinsung explains the two types of shinsu attacking; enhancing one's own body, or controlling the shinsu of someone else. The Ranker shows off the latter by performing a powerful Wave Explosion piercing technique against a rock golem, and explains that it will take years for Viole to master this. However, Jinsung notes that there's a faster way to learn it that will be painful, which Bam is perfectly fine with. As a result, Jinsung performs the Wave Explosion piercing technique on Viole to have the boy learn the technique quicker, but the Slayer-Candidate's left lying on the ground injured.

In another meeting with Yu Hansung, admits that he's starting to have compassionate feelings again for the boy, which is a feeling that he hasn't felt in a long time. That it's causing said Ranker to remember back to the girl he failed to protect from his family that he ended up slaughtering his whole family for forcibly selling the girl off to the Family Head. He asks if Yu Hansung truly believes that Viole can accomplish FUG's dream to kill King Jahad. Jinsung explains that compared to other Irregulars, the boy feels different to the point that he isn't convinced that the path of becoming a FUG Slayer is the right path for Viole.

Viole remains on the ground feeling the pain from the Wave Explosion piercing technique as Hwaryun comes to greet him. She explains to Viole how FUG is an organization that houses many people who have been screwed over under the current Tower rule, and will come to worship a god Slayer that can one day change the Tower by killing King Jahad. Rebuilding the rock golem for Viole to continue his training, she leaves off calling Viole her god, and that he must accomplish killing King Jahad for everyone's sake.

On his way back to Viole, Jinsung thinks about the answer Yu Hansung provided regarding Viole. That Jinsung will start believing the moment he witnesses what Viole is capable of. Jinsung remains unconvinced as he just sees Viole as an ordinary boy, which he then runs into Hwaryun. She informs him that she rebuilt the rock golem so that the boy can try out the Wave Explosion piercing technique he just learned. Worried for Viole, Jinsung hurries over to the Slayer Candidate's location believing that no one can suddenly learn how to use the Wave Explosion after being hit by it just one time. However, upon reaching Viole, he's surprised to see that the Slayer-Candidate managed to damage the rock golem with his very own Wave Explosion piercing techinque.

Finally convinced, Jinsung walks up to the Slayer-Candidate. He does this remembering the promise he made to the girl he tried to save in his family, which the girl asked him not to forget her. The Ranker asks if Viole is still interested in becoming strong under Jinsung's tutelage, and that if he is, Viole will become a god.

Viole tells Jinsung that he doesn't want to say goodbye anymore to his friends

The story flashes back to the moment on the 2nd Floor cave right when Yu Hansung had left after informing Bam of the danger his friends are in if he decides not to become FUG's Slayer-Candidate, Viole. Jinsung, who had been watching the entire time, approaches Viole, and points out how tough Yu Hansung is being on him given that the Supervisor of the 2nd Floor isn't the type of person that would kill Viole's friends himself. Introducing himself as Viole's martial arts teacher from today onward, Jinsung says that it's nice to meet him.

Seeing Viole remain silent, Jinsung asks the new Slayer-Candidate to not be so angry with them, and that as long as Viole cooperates with FUG, he will be given everything he needs, and have whatever he asks for handed to him. Viole finally speaks, and says that he wants to be strong so that he doesn't have to say goodbye to anyone else, which confuses Jinsung. Beginning to cry, Viole asks Jinsung how strong he needs to become so that he doesn't lose any more of his friends, which leaves Jinsung silent, unable to properly answer him.

Some time after, Jinsung meets with Yu Hansung, and points out how their new FUG Slayer is different compared to the last Irregular, Urek Mazino. Yu Hansung agrees with the statement, but Jinsung points out that while he's different, it's the type of difference where Viole is someone that's just too ordinary and weak.

Jinsung shows off the Wave Explosion technique to Viole against a rock golem

Jinsung mentions how compared to Urek, where he would do anything to bring that monster into FUG, Viole just comes off as someone doesn't seem to belong here, and doesnt find this scenario to be right. Struggling to come up with an answer, Jinsung figures that he won't know for sure until he sees what Viole can do in their training.

Beginning Viole's training in the cave, Jinsung explains to the FUG Slayer that shinsu can be used two different ways in battle. The first is to use shinsu to reinforce your own body to attack. The second is to use the shinsu to control the enemy so that a follow-up attack on said enemy is made much easier. Showing a rock golem before Viole, Jinsung explains that the second method to attack with shinsu is known as Approach Control, and that the strongest type of this attack is known as a Wave Explosion. Putting his hand on the rock golem, Jinsung explains that to do the Wave Explosion, one must vibrate their inner shinsu into the form of an explosion. He shows off the attack to Viole, which causes the rock golem to be completely destroyed.

Jinsung explains that the problem with performing the Wave Explosion is that one must be touching the enemy, and that the user's defenses will be completely down while attempting to perform the attack. The Ranker asks that Viole use the next few years to train the attack in safety given that it's such a dangerous skill. However, he informs Viole of a faster way to learn it by testing out the attack on the FUG Slayer himself.

Jinsung questions Yu Hansung if Viole truly has what it takes to be FUG's Slayer

Viole agrees to do it, which leaves Jinsung silent. He then puts his hand on Viole's chest, and performs the Wave Explosion, which forces the FUG Slayer to the ground holding himself in pain.

Meeting with Yu Hansung once more, Jinsung continues to look at his hand, and states that it's been awhile since he's felt bad about using his attack on someone. Yu Hansung calls out Jinsung's hesitation contradiction, because he's known as the crazy murderer who destroyed his own family after learning that they purchased a girl into it. However, Jinsung answers that the anger towards his family has subsided over time, and that his feelings have begun to return after meeting Viole. Jinsung thinks back to the day that he slaughtered his family, but was unable to save the girl, and mentions to Yu Hansung that he thought that he had forgotten everything at this point.

Looking back at Yu Hansung, Jinsung asks the 2nd Floor Supervisor if the former truly believes that Viole can make their wish come true, which leaves Yu Han Song confused by the question. Jinsung explains that while it's true that only an Irregular can kill King Jahad, Viole still comes off as someone to him that is different compared to the other monster Irregular that came before him. That he's been forced to take a path that isn't right for him.

Hwaryun explains to Viole why FUG desires to see him kill King Jahad

Switching back to the cave, Viole continues to remain on the ground after being hit by Jinsung's Wave Explosion. Hwaryun walks up to him, and teases the FUG Slayer that every time she's run into Viole, he's always been lying on the ground. She then kneels down before Viole, and tells him that he can't die until he completes his job as the FUG Slayer to kill King Jahad.

Thinking it over, Viole questions Hwaryun why FUG is so desperate to kill King Jahad. However, Hwaryun instead asks if Viole believes that the two of them are similar, which grabs Viole's attention. The FUG Slayer gets up to a sitting position, and asks what Hwaryun means by that.

Picking up the object on the ground that created Jinsung's rock golem, Hwaryun explains that the organization of FUG houses many people with personal issues related to Jahad and the ten Great Families. She states that these are people who desire to see change to the Tower, and that a Slayer, who they view as their god, can kill the King to make their dream finally come true. Recreating the rock golem for Viole to continue his training, she states that he should be the one that no Regular can be, the person that kills King Jahad. Turning around to begin leaving, Hwaryun wishes her god luck.

Jinsung witnesses Viole perform the Wave Explosion against the golem

Walking back through the cave to continue his training with Viole, Jinsung thinks back to what Yu Hansung told him. That after seeing Viole train, the Ranker will no doubt change the way he's currently viewing the FUG Slayer. Yu Hansung explains that witnessing what Viole is capable of will show Jinsung the end-game destiny that was given to the FUG Slayer.

Continuing to walk, Jinsung questions how a boy that looks ordinary to him would have the kind of power that Yu Hansung is hyping up. He runs into Hwaryun along the way, and asks if she cured him of the damage he took from the Wave Explosion. Hwaryun answers that she just rebuilt the rock golem since Viole was looking a bit bored to her. Jinsung starts to get confused figuring that Viole must still be lying around in pain, and complains that the rock golem poses a danger to the FUG Slayer since only a Wave Explosion can destroy it. However, Hwaryun answers again that Viole will be safe since he learned how to do the attack from Jinsung when he tested it on the FUG Slayer. Refusing to believe Hwaryun's words, Jinsung begins to get worried, and races to Viole's location. Jinsung thinks to himself how FUG can go to such lengths believing that an ordinary boy could learn the Wave Explosion in just one shot. He reaches Viole, and is surprised to see the FUG Slayer able to stand up to face the rock golem.

Jinsung asks if Viole desires to have the strength of a god

Jinsung stands by to watch the battle as the rock golem knocks Viole back to the ground. However, upon closer look at the golem, Jinsung spots a damage mark that could only have come from a Wave Explosion that was used by Viole. Unable to believe what he's witnessing, Jinsung questions how it's possible that Viole was able to copy the Wave Explosion after seeing it just one time.

Jinsung thinks back once more to what Yu Hansung told him that seeing what Viole can do will show him what their new FUG Slayer is capable of. He also thinks back to the girl he tried to save from his family, and remembers that she told him to promise to never forget her. Lost in thought, Jinsung walks up to Viole, and destroys the rock golem that's been attacking him.

Convinced that Viole can achieve their dream, Jinsung looks down at the FUG Slayer, and asks if the boy still desires to be strong. Viole looks up to him in confusion, which Jinsung states that he will teach him how to become a god.
