The girls meet the beefcake Absman, who makes them—Buttercup, notably—feel inferior because they're not bulked up like he is. Buttercup proceeds to go to a workout gym and get bulked up. When she does, she becomes completely useless when Blossom and Bubbles are trapped by the Gnat.
This episode contains examples of:
- Brought Down to Normal: After her sisters are trapped and finding herself unable to fly in her bulked-up condition, Buttercup goes into a reverse process—which results in her becoming flabby and listless. An off-screen cardio workout later, she's back to normal.
- The Cape: Subverted. Absman is not a superhero. He's a corporate mascot for Muscle Maxifier, a workout drink.
- Corporate-Sponsored Superhero / I'm Not a Hero, I'm...: Absman. In fact his bulked-up body is really a façade for his real body—a wisp of a man with a pot belly.
- Kingpin in His Gym: Of the superhero variety with Buttercup.
- Not Quite Back to Normal: By the end of the episode, Buttecup is back to normal but her skin is still orange since the spray tan she used doesn't easily come off.
