The seventeenth episode of the first season of The Looney Tunes Show.

Bugs tells the viewers the story of how Pizzarriba came to be. When Gerardi's, his and Daffy's favorite pizza restaurant closes down, Bugs buys it and decides to run it with the help of Daffy, Porky, Marvin the Martian, and Pete Puma. However, their attempts to run Gerardi's are a disaster (partly by Pete's lack of intelligence, but mostly, predictably, by Daffy's actions) so Bugs enlists Speedy Gonzales' help, due to Speedy's lifelong dream to own a restaurant. Thanks to Speedy, Gerardi's is a success and Bugs not only gives Speedy ownership of it but also renames it Pizzarriba in his honor.

This episode features the "Daffy Duck: The Wizard" Merrie Melodies music video and the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote short, "Go Fly a Coyote".

This episode provides examples of:

  • Art Shift: In the "Daffy Duck: The Wizard" Merrie Melodies music video, we get a glimpse into Daffy's fantasies, showcasing an animation style better suited for Dungeons & Dragons.
  • Attack! Attack... Retreat! Retreat!: This exchange:
    (Cash register rings)
Bugs: Oooh, I like the sound of that!
Porky: (As he hands a customer his dollar back) Here's your refund.
Bugs: Oh. Don't like the sound of that.
  • Carnivore Confusion: After Gerardi's closes, Bugs, Porky, and Daffy go to a barbecue restaurant that serves pork ribs and pulled pork sandwiches. When Porky brings up this issue, Daffy reminds Porky that he eats pepperoni all the time. Porky doesn't see the problem at first, but near the end of the episode, he finds out, to his horror, that pepperoni is made of pork. In The Stinger, he orders a plain cheese pizza, saying it's not easy being a pig.
  • Didn't Think This Through: When Daffy runs out of pizza dough (due to his attempts to make pizza resulting in the uncooked pizzas hanging from the ceiling), he tries to improvise by cutting up cardboard boxes into the shape of pizzas. When he tries to cook them, they catch fire. He then asks Marvin why he didn't tell him that cardboard was flammable.
  • Drunk with Power: Said word-for-word by Marvin when he calls Daffy out on his questionable leadership.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: When Bugs, Daffy, and Porky go to a barbecue restaurant, Porky refuses to eat pork ribs and pulled pork sandwiches because they're made from pigs, yet he still eats pepperoni. Daffy notes the irony, but Porky doesn't realize that pepperoni is also made from pigs at first.
  • Everyone Has Standards: At the baseball game, the catcher is just as offended by Daffy's obnoxious heckling as everyone else is. He hands the batter a ball so that Daffy can get beamed in the face.
  • Good News, Bad News: Porky does this when talking to Bugs. It's all good news as far as the restaurant's profits go, which Bugs didn't expect. The bad news turns out to be that Porky had finally realized what pepperoni is made of.
  • Hypocrisy Nod: When Porky voices his disgust at pork products being served at a restaurant, Daffy points out that he eats pepperoni. Porky doesn't get it, until near the end of the episode.
  • I Ate WHAT?!: Porky loves eating pepperoni, until he finds out it was primarily a pork product. That didn't stop him from eating more pepperoni to curve his depression though.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Porky loves pepperoni and is mortified when he discovers what it's made out of. What does he do in his depression? He eats more pepperoni.
  • Instant Roast: One of Daffy's imagine spots in "Daffy Duck: The Wizard" has him using fire magic to turn a chicken and a wild board into a roast bird and a baked ham.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: At a baseball game, Daffy repeatedly heckles a player trying to bat. Though insisting it's all in good fun, he quickly escalates from simply critiquing his athletic ability to openly calling him a bad father and husband. It gets him beamed him in the face with a ball.
  • Literal-Minded: Pete Puma when he tries to apply for a position at Gerardi's.
Pete: I'm here to apply for the job.
Bugs: Oh, great. Take a seat. (Pete takes a chair and carries it toward the exit) No. I mean sit down.
Pete: Oh... right! (sits on the floor while still holding the chair)
  • Mundane Made Awesome:
    • The entire "Daffy Duck: The Wizard" Merrie Melodies music video is basically Daffy imagining things to be cooler than they actually are, such as imagining him flying on a dragon and bursting into a tavern. In reality, he actually just is going to the Quesadilla Shack.
    • This episode ends with Daffy, Pete, and Marvin using a tank to deliver pizzas.
  • Old Soldier: After being appointed "General of Pizza", Daffy becomes a parody of this trope.
  • Primate Versus Reptile: In the "Daffy Duck: The Wizard" Merrie Melodies music video, Daffy briefly watches a battle between a giant gorilla and a Tyrannosaurus rex.
  • Restaurant-Owning Episode: In this episode, Bugs explains the origin of Pizzarriba, how he bought it and tried unsuccessfully to run it with the help of Daffy, Porky, Marvin, and Pete before giving Speedy its ownership.
  • Squick: In-Universe. When Porky munches into pepperoni sausage, Bugs cringes in disgust due to knowing what pepperoni is made from.
  • Take That!: In the "Daffy Duck: The Wizard" Merrie Melodies music video, one of the frozen beasts that Daffy roasts resembles Pumbaa from The Lion King (1994).
  • Under Strange Management: This episode shows how Speedy Gonzales ended up running his own pizza restaurant. Years ago, Gerardi's was owned by Cool Old Guy Mr. Gerardi, who one day decided to retire and move away. Not wanting his favorite hangout spot to close down, Bugs bought Gerardi's. Since he couldn't run it on his own, he had to ask Daffy for help. After Bugs named him ""Commander-in-Chief of Pizza Operations" to get him on board, Daffy started to take his new job a little too seriously. After he and Bugs hired Marvin the Martian, Pete Puma and Porky, their first day running Gerardi's is such a disaster that Hunan Palace, the local Chinese restaurant sent them a gift basket to thank them for all the costumers their awful service had sent their way. Speedy called out Bugs on the decision to buy Gerardi's like this, since Bugs never wanted to run a restaurant and his "I want a place to hang out with my friends" problem could have been fixed by converting his garage. While Bugs didn't convert his garage, he did wise up. The next day, he locked Daffy, Marvin, and Pete in the fridge so they wouldn't get in anyone's way, and he let Speedy take care of all the work since he was both fast and responsible enough, and genuinely passionate about making people happy and being surrounded by cheese all day. Eventually, the only decision that made sense was to give Speedy ownership of Gerardi's, which was then renamed Pizzarriba in his honor.
  • Weird Sun: In the "Daffy Duck: The Wizard" Merrie Melodies music video, one of the various fantastical details Daffy populates his imaginary world with is a black sun looming in the sky.
