Lauren Faust and Craig McCracken walk through a Hong Kong marketplace to have a meeting with Hannibal Chou. Lauren complains and can't believe she's doing something so dangerous. Miki's team communicates via their earpieces and assures them that they will be ready to protect them if anything goes wrong, while Taiyou snarks in the background. Chou meets the couple and greets them. The arms dealer acknowledges that they are asking him to provide bodyguards as they prepare to head a relief team in Somalia, but he walks them to a restaurant and says they might as well have some lunch first.

Lauren thinks about her discovery that Equestria is real and ponders on the true nature of the universe for a bit. The restaurant, which Chou frequents, is called Yue Ma, which means "The Prancing Pony". Chou admits he is a The Lord of the Rings fan and he suggested the name to the owner as a joke. Lauren reminds Craig that they never have alcohol during a business meeting, making him pout. Chou asks why they would want to help the Somalians given they are so hostile even to foreigners trying to help them. Lauren says everyone deserves help, even if they don't want it. As they make small talk, Chou mentions a trader who once tried to force him to work for him. Chou defeated him and made him one of his subordinates. Suspicious, Lauren asks if the man might make any moves to betray him as revenge, but Chou says the man has been loyal ever since.

Suddenly, Chou reveals he knows Lauren and Craig are wired. The GDF members panic and try to move into the building, but he says he's not mad and that if the GDF wanted to talk to him, they could have just called instead of going through all these theatrics. Now that pretenses are off, Lauren and Craig explain the events with Red Dawn, Bagan, and the weapons leading to Chou. Chou says the story sounds crazy, but he's willing to believe him. He has an idea of who has been selling weapons to Red Dawn under his name. He also acknowledges that the theatrics were necessary because his calls are screened and the conspirator would have prevented him from receiving them.

Out of nowhere, the waiter draws a gun and shoots Chou's bodyguard, then trains the gun on the three of them. The waiter is Laoshu, a member of Red Dawn and a man who always hated Chou for mistreating him and his family. He knows Chou's skills with the butterfly knife are impressive, but he boasts that he can shoot him before he can draw it. Laoshu then summons a squad that engages the GDF members outside, preventing them from helping. Miki and Taiyou discover that their minds are protected from telepathy. Laoshu prepares to kill Chou, but a hooded figure attacks him from behind and disarms him, then points a gun at his face and orders him to call off his men. Completely terrified for his life, Laoshu gives in and orders his men to stand down. Captain Gordon enters and is glad Lauren and Craig are all right. The figure introduces herself as Cassidy McClane, a member of IBI. She had been investigating shady dealings in Chou's business, but had thought it was just mundane crime. Terrorist groups and an omnicidal Kaiju are a little out of her league. Nonetheless, Gordon invites her to join the GDF and she accepts.

As Gamera, Zilla, and Titanosaurus prepare to enter the barrier, the submarines remind them that sonar cannot penetrate it, so they have to use telepathy to coordinate their torpedo strikes. They assure the Kaiju that the torpedoes are programmed to avoid them, though that doesn't reassure them. Gamera tells the other two his suspicions that inside the barrier is Bagan. If it is, they have to escape as fast as they can and then have the submarines fire everything they can.

They enter, but instead of Bagan, inside is an underwater volcano and seven Anteverse Rifts. The humans wonder how can this be, since Godzilla Junior destroyed their facility years ago. The Rifts open and dozens of Anteverse Kaiju spill out. The three battle them with the submarines providing covering fire. The proper procedure to dealing with Rifts is to shove one of the Kaiju back through it to prevent it from closing and make it vulnerable so it can be destroyed, but it is easier said than done. Every few minutes, the volcano erupts and the Rifts move closer together. The submarines pick up the gigantic Kaiju from earlier on their sonar, so they prepare for the worst. The Rifts combine into one, then a Kaiju that resembles a crocodile emerges. Everyone looks on in terror. The creature is over 800 feet long, the largest Kaiju in history.
