Garble says the ponies are in his territory. If they leave Gentle Leaf there for them to eat, they'll allow Rainbow Dash and Aero to live. Some of other dragons complain that the filly is too small to feed all of them, but he tells them to shut up. Rainbow says not a chance, throws Gentle Leaf to Aero, and tells him to run and get help while she holds them off. Garble lunges, but she kicks him in the face and knocks a tooth out.
Anguirus observes Rainbow Dash's battle with the dragons. Garble's gang goes around her and follows Aero to the camp, intending to get more meat, with Rainbow in pursuit. Anguirus decides he doesn't have to get involved, especially since Rainbow is strong enough to fight them on her own. After all, back on Terra, he only fought for his own kind, and never cared about the tiny humans, and the ponies in this world seem to be the equivalent of humans. As he walks away, he spies his reflection in a puddle, and sees a pony looking back at him. Overcome with guilt and shame, he realizes ponies are his own kind now, and charges toward the camp.
Rainbow is heavily battered and bruised from fighting Garble. As the other dragons reach the camp, they and Garble are overcome by their greed for food and begin to grow. As they begin chasing ponies and setting fire to the camp, Rainbow starts helping the campers evacuate. A dragon named Fume corners a colt and a filly, but the filly angrily tries to blast him with her horn, though she can only create small sparks. Fume chuckles, but before he can attack, Anguirus arrives and rescues her; discovering he's still strong enough in his pony form to tackle the now full grown dragons and knock them down.
Garble corners Gentle Leaf and prepares to devour her when Rainbow kicks him in the face, but the impact breaks her leg and one of her wings. Enraged at losing more of his teeth, Garble says he won't eat Rainbow Dash, he'll turn her to ashes. As he charges up his fire breath, Rainbow tells Gentle Leaf to run, but the filly won't leave her. Garble fires, and Rainbow shields the child with her body. At the same time, Anguirus rushes up to shield them with his own body. Just before the fire blast hits, Rainbow Dash's Cutie Mark glows and a bright light bursts from her chest and enters Anguirus. The fire blast impacts and creates an explosion and cloud of smoke. Garble gloats, thinking they have been incinerated, but his friends are wary. A huge pillar of light erupts from the smoke and extends to the sky.
Back in Ponyville, Twilight Sparkle, Mothra, and every Unicorn in town can sense an enormous surge of magical power, and the pillar of light is visible on the horizon. Mothra can tell the energy is coming from Anguirus' aura and smiles.
Rainbow is half expecting to be in heaven, but she opens her eyes to find she's still alive. Gentle Leaf is gawking at something above them. Rainbow follows her gaze and gawks at the largest creature she's ever seen
