Recap / The Bridge Ch 13 A Voice In The Wind

Go To

All clear. (But not for long.)

In the Celestial Museum in Fillydelphia, the security guard High Beam inspects each of the exhibits just as his shift ends. He is shocked when he finds that the vault has been ripped open. He calls for backup and then enters the vault, terrified at seeing the unusual-looking Monster X. Monster X is about to incinerate him when he hears a gentle female voice like a wind chime tell him there is no need to kill him. Surprised, he redirects his beam so it doesn't hit High Beam (who still gets knocked unconscious by the explosion) and demands to know who said that. When there is no reply, he shrugs and leaves with what his master ordered him to retrieve. High Beam is found and revived by his colleagues, who find that Monster X's footprints don't lead out out of the vault, as if he disappeared into thin air, and only one item was stolen, the Alicorn Amulet.

Mothra, now restored to her true form of a giant butterfly, battles the Gyaos flock after telepathically telling Twilight and Spike to run. She kills many of them with her magical blasts and by reflecting their Sonic Lasers, but the flock seems endless. The Albino Hyper Gyaos gets into a beam struggle with her, and the resulting explosion blows both of them back. The lesser Gyaos dogpile Mothra and bite her several times before she fights them off. Hyper Gyaos senses a great power source nearby. Realizing this is the target her master ordered her to acquire, she orders some of the flock's smallest members to seek it out, while she and the rest of the flock keep Mothra busy.

Close your eyes!

Twilight runs with Spike on her back away from some Gyaos. Spike keeps a few at bay with his fire breath. After finding a safe place, Twilight notices some of the flock moving away from the battle and shudders with dread when she realizes they are going after the Tree of Harmony. If this tree is destroyed, the Everfree Forest will run wild and overtake Equestria. After finding an emergency tunnel leading to the cave that holds the tree, she goes in and tells Spike to hide after closing the entrance to make sure none of the Gyaos see it. He reluctantly does so.

Inside the cave, she finds three Gyaos sawing away at the Tree of Harmony and quickly blasts them away. She manages to kill two of them, but the third lunges at her and she does not have enough time to cast a spell. Suddenly, she hears a gentle female voice like a wind chime tell her to close her eyes. She obeys, and the Tree of Harmony unleashes a great flash of light that leaves the Gyaos on the ground clutching its eyes in agony. Twilight wonders what happened and turns around to see what seems to be a unicorn shrouded in light so she can only see her outline, which then vanishes. The flabbergasted Twilight can only hope Mothra is all right.

Terra belongs to me!

Several years ago, during the conflict the humans dubbed "Final Wars", the Xilians with their war machines and alien Kaiju attempted to invade Terra. The humans and native Kaiju teamed up to fight back. An orbiting Xilian warship observes as Godzilla Junior and Gamera take on Grand King Ghidorah. The ship aims its main cannon at the back of Godzilla's head, gloating that no matter how powerful Godzilla is, this attack will at least cripple him, and they will finally get rid of a major thorn in their side. Before they can fire, they detect something approaching them. They try to open fire on it, but the ship is wiped out by a Corona Ray. Xenilla floats among the wreckage. Godzilla Junior will never know his hated brother saved his life, and that is just the way he wants it, for he wants to defeat Junior himself. A second wave of warships approaches, and Xenilla attacks, roaring that this is his planet to rule. Later, it was reported that the second wave was felled for unknown reasons, and the loss of the second wave was attributed to one of the leading reasons the invaders lost the "Final Wars".
