"Jack, Abydos is in trouble."
— Dr. Daniel Jackson

Daniel appears to O'Neill and warns him that Anubis is on his way to Abydos to search for a powerful artifact known as the Eye of Ra. SG-1 returns to the planet and with the help of Daniel, Skaara and the rest of the Abydonians, enter into a race to find the Eye before Anubis's forces.

Last appearance of Skaara and Abydos.

"Full Circle" provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: Skaara ascends after dying from a staff weapon blast, followed shortly by the entire population of Abydos after Anubis destroys the planet. The implication is that Oma helped them ascend to make up for sending Daniel away before he could stop Anubis's attack.
  • Badass Boast:
Daniel: (to Anubis) If you know what I am, you know very well I can wipe you from existence.
  • Big Red Button: Anubis has one of these on either side of his control chair that he uses to fire his superweapon after obtaining the Eye of Ra.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The Abydonians have been ascended to live out eternity in peace, but on the other hand their planet is still destroyed, Daniel's fate is left uncertain and Anubis is now powerful than the remaining system lords combined after successfully getting hold of the Eye.
  • Blunt "Yes": When O'Neill deals with Her'ak's demands by being his usual self:
Jonas: Is it really necessary to further antagonize him?
    O'Neill: ...Yes.
  • Call-Back:
    • A random Abydonian man makes a comment to Teal'c indicating that he believes Daniel to have become a god. In the original movie, the Abydonians bowed before Daniel on first seeing him, believing him to have been sent by Ra.
    • After learning of Her'ak's promotion, O'Neill makes a comment about "failing upwards". He said the same thing after upon finding out that Colonel Kennedy had been promoted and replaced by Maybourne all the way back in season one's "Enigma".
  • Call on Me: A somewhat belligerent example, when O'Neill gets fed up with Daniel leaving all the hard work to the team:
Jonas: I don't know what to tell you. I mean, if Dr. Jackson was here...
O'Neill: Oh, he's here. Trust me, he's here. Son of a bitch. Hey! Where are you?! We're only doing this because of you!
Daniel: (appearing behind him) Jack, it's here. I know it is.
  • Continuity Nod: O'Neill and Teal'c both admit that they have been visited by Daniel on previous occasions during the last year.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Anubis pretty much obliterates the combined forced of the system lords after upgrading his ship's weapons with the Eye, and those left intact retreat before he can destroy them.
  • Dispense with the Pleasantries: Inverted; O'Neill is annoyed that Daniel doesn't bother to say hello when he appears out of nowhere to dump a pile of exposition on him.
  • Evil Counterpart: Anubis is presented as one for Daniel after the reveal that he's a partially-ascended being. The fact that Daniel spends the duration of the episode dressed in robes that look like a light-colored counterpart of Anubis's Black Cloak unsubtly drives this home.
  • The Faceless: Anubis shows Daniel his "true face", which is pretty much just a swirling void of energy formed into a vague skull shape.
  • For the Evulz: This would seem to be the sole reason that Anubis destroys Abydos, since it isn't exactly a threat.
  • Gotta Catch Them All: The Eye of Ra is the last of six similar Eyes from various system lords that Anubis needs to power his weapon.
  • Hostage for MacGuffin: Daniel cuts a deal with Anubis to give him the Eye in exchange for Anubis letting the team go free and promising not to harm Abydos. Anubis being Anubis, it doesn't exactly go down that way.
  • If You Die, I Call Your Stuff: Discussed when Daniel notices Jonas using his old equipment.
    Daniel: Is that my stuff?
Jonas: You weren't using it anymore.
  • MacGuffin Delivery Service: Her'ak shows up to demand the Eye pretty much as soon as the team manage to find it.
  • Mundane Solution: Jonas finds a secret compartment where he believes the Eye to be hidden and starts looking around for a way to open it. Carter tells him to get out of the way and simply blasts it open with her P90.
  • Not Me This Time: This is pretty much Anubis's response when Her'ak commends his power after Daniel's attack on him fails.
Her'ak: You are indeed all-powerful, my Lord.
Anubis: What you just saw was not my doing.
  • Rank Up: Her'ak has been promoted to Anubis's personal First Prime since his last appearance.
  • The Reveal:
    • The ascended "Others" are in fact the original Ancients.
    • Anubis is a partially-ascended Goa'uld who got stuck halfway after the Others attempted to kick him back down to the mortal plane.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Daniel finally takes a stand and violates the ascended non-interference clause in order to defend Abydos — not that it does him any good, since he gets dragged away just as he's about to unleash his power on Anubis.
  • Seen It All: Hammond immediately accepts O'Neill's claim that he got his intel about the planned attack on Abydos from Daniel, despite the fact that Daniel has been "dead" for over a year at this point.
  • Seinfeldian Conversation: O'Neill forces Daniel into one of these when he first shows up at the beginning of the episode, after Daniel spends a while rambling on about the Eye of Ra.
O'Neill: Hey, Daniel. How you doin'? Long time. How are things in the higher planes?
Daniel: (turns around for a second, grimaces, then turns back with exaggerated patience) Hey, Jack, long time no see! How — how you doing?
    O'Neill: Just fine, just fine.
Daniel: The knees, the back, everything's...?
O'Neill: Oh, you know. Kinda weather-contingent, actually.
Daniel: Right, right, right. So what's new?
O'Neill: Um... actually, a funny thing happened to me today. I'm riding an elevator, and an old friend of mine — someone who never calls, never writes — just shows up and tells me all about this very important and apparently urgent mission that needs my attention.
    Daniel: You gonna help, or...?
O'Neill: No, wait, wait. Let me tell it, it's good. You see, this buddy of mine, this pal, this chum, has... ascended... to a whole new level of existence. Do you see the irony? He's asking for my help, and he's this great and powerful being.
  • Sequel Hook: Daniel finds an Ancient tablet talking about a "lost city", the search for which would drive much of the plot for season seven.
  • Ship Tease: This exchange when Skaara invites O'Neill and Carter to his wedding.
Skaara: Will you be coming together?
    O'Neill: As in...?
Carter: Friends going to a wedding?
O'Neill: Ah. Yes! Sure. Jonas...? (wanders off)
  • Strike Me Down with All of Your Hatred!: Anubis pretty much dares Daniel to do this, presumably gambling on the fact that the Others will intervene before he can do any damage.
Anubis: Stop me, if you can... Strike me down. Do it now, or I will destroy Abydos.
  • Summon Bigger Fish: Daniel informs the system lords that Anubis has the Eye of Ra, prompting them to show up en masse and demands his surrender. Unfortunately this doesn't work out quite the way he'd hoped, since the Eye makes Anubis more than a match for their combined forces.
  • Where It All Began: Since the episode was originally envisioned as the series finale, it features a return to Abydos, where the movie and much of the pilot episode took place.
