Marco decides it's time to teach Star how to ride a bike. Things quickly go wrong when Star ends up rolling down a hill because Marco let go of the bike without her knowledge, worsened by the fact that she doesn't know how to brake.

Luckily, Oskar is randomly parked in Marco's driveway and willing to assist. The duo are shortly joined by Glossaryck, though he refuses to do anything because the problem isn't magical in nature.

After some chase scene shenanigans and an impromptu song by Oskar and Glossaryck, the car is able to catch up to Star. Marco attempts to instruct Star on how to brake and then hand her the wand, but this is hampered by Star's newfound distrust towards Marco (stemming from how he said he wouldn't let go of the bike and did so anyway) and Oskar's distracting presence. As Star rolls off, the car ends up crashing due to the steering wheel and pedals breaking earlier.

Glossaryck finally decides that he needs to help, but he gets sick from some food he had eaten earlier before he can magic the problem away. Incapacitated, he instructs Marco to ride a "giant invisible goat" (mentioned earlier by both Star and Glossaryck in offhand comments) to finish the job.

Marco quickly catches up to Star thanks to the giant invisible goat. After a little heart-to-heart about trust and believing in each other, Star learns how to brake and finally stops. The episode ends with Marco face-planting into the street due to thinking he'd land on the invisible goat, which had left.

Tropes:

  • All Up to You: After Oskar's car gets wrecked and Glossaryck gets too sick to do anything, Marco is left as the only one who can help Star.
  • Be as Unhelpful as Possible: Glossaryck refuses to do anything to assist Marco save Star because there's no magic involved, instead opting to screw around with Oskar. He eventually gives Marco some instruction that does help, but leaves Marco to do all of the work.
  • Black Comedy: The pack of angry stray dogs chasing Star end up falling to their apparent doom in a sinkhole.
  • Call-Back: Star manages to use the stubby little wings she grew in "Mewberty" to make it across the sink-hole.
  • Chekhov's Gag: Star and Glossaryck both mention how giant invisible goats pull things on Mewni as part of a gag. Marco eventually ends up riding one of said goats to catch up to Star.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When the dogs fall into the sinkhole, Marco laments that they should have been wearing helmets.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Oskar just happens to be parked in the Diaz's driveway when Star rolls off, allowing Marco to get a ride to chase after her.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Oskar is unfazed and pretty calm about driving towards a pit.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Star ends up distracted by Oskar's face when Marco tries to pass her the wand. She becomes so flustered that she rolls away from Oskar's car, missing her chance to grab the wand.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Oskar is not a very good driver, which would explain the state his car is in.
  • Failed a Spot Check: Everyone in the episode seems to disregard that the bike also has handbrakes.
  • Fantasy Helmet Enforcement:
    • Oskar makes Marco put on his seatbelt before they drive after Star.
    • Star conjures helmets for Oskar, Glossaryck, and the ferret when she offers to give them a ride home.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Marco sets off the plot by attempting the Placebo Effect by letting go of Star's bike seat when she isn't paying attention. Since he never taught her to use the brakes, Star can't stop and doesn't trust him when he tries to explain how.
  • Odd Friendship: Glossaryck the all-powerful magical being and Oskar the ditzy musician get along very well.
  • Plot-Induced Illness: Glossaryck is perfectly capable of stopping the runaway bike at any moment using magic, but he the spends the first half of the episode not contributing at all. The instant he does decide to help, he gets sick from some food he had eaten earlier and becomes incapacitated.
  • Real After All: Turns out there is a Giant Invisible Goat, like Star and Glossaryck kept going on about, and Marco rides it to try and rescue Star.
  • Sheet of Glass: While Star is rolling along, she sees a woman with her baby crossing the street up ahead. It turns out to be a painting that some workers are transporting, which Star proceeds to run into.
  • Shout-Out: Oskar and Marco holding hands when they drive and accelerate towards the pit is a reference to the iconic final scenes of the movie Thelma & Louise.
  • Skewed Priorities: Glossaryck and Oskar get distracted by eating meatball subs, then by composing a song about Star's predicament.
  • Trash of the Titans: Oskar's car is filled with junk, such that it spills out in a giant pile when the car crashes.
  • Voice Clip Song: Glossaryck records Marco saying "trouble" on a keytar and makes a song out of it with Oskar.
