Marco and his friends use Star's Magic Mirror to play prank calls, racking up a lengthy bill. When the service provider cuts the connection, they and Star go to a dimension of pixies to pay the fine, and find themselves sent to a diamond mine to work off the debt!

Tropes:

  • And I'm the Queen of Sheba: Marco tries to reason with the slaver by pointing out Star is the Princess of Mewni (which is true) and Ferguson adds that he's King Fergon (which he just made up). The slaver sarcastically says he's the Duchess of Daisyland.
  • Anti-Magic: Magic doesn't work inside the mines.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: The pixies seem as stereotypically pleasant as can be, but they have a real dark side.
  • Continuity Nod: The way Star announces "Marco's Emergency Cash Stash" seems to be a nod to "Marco's Super-Awesome Nachos" from "Party with a Pony".
  • Crazy-Prepared: Marco keeps emergency money in his shoe. Unfortunately, the fairies don't take Earth money.
  • Cutting the Knot: After escaping Pixtopia, Star just decides to switch providers instead of paying the bill.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Didn't bring the right currency to the office? Well, you can just toil away in the mines!
  • The Fair Folk: The pixies. They have the positives and the negatives.
  • Minecart Madness: The gang tries to escape from the pixies in a minecart. A chase through the mineshafts ensues.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero:
    • It was Marco's idea to play pranks with the mirror. Star's actually happy that for once it wasn't her fault something got messed up, and dubs herself and Marco "Mess Up Twins".
    • Marco believes this after telling Ferguson to not marry the Pixie Empress, but Star assures him that the empress only wanted to eat Ferguson. We don't get confirmation on this.
  • No Yay: In-Universe for Marco, Ferguson and the Pixie Empress. We don't see his reaction to Alfonso marrying the Pixie Empress instead.
  • Person as Verb: While reveling in the thought of her and Marco being "Mess Up Twins," Star uses her own name in invoke this, telling Marco that he "really Star-ed this one up." She also uses "Star" verb puns a few times in this episode.
  • Tranquil Fury: When Ferguson tells the Pixie Empress he can't go through with the wedding , her reaction is to smile pleasantly, then calmly order her guards to kill him and all his friends.
  • Why Waste a Wedding?: Star and her friends manage to escape in the middle of Ferguson leaving the Pixie Empress at the altar, but the episode ends with Alfonzo getting married to the Pixie Empress instead.
  • Work Off the Debt: The group have to work the debt off in the shard mines, when they don't have the right currency to pay the bill.
  • Yandere: When Ferguson changes his mind about marrying the Pixie Empress, she, with Dissonant Serenity, tells her men to kill them (Star's group).
