As the staff tracks the companies bidding on Continental Corp, Dana meets a mysterious stranger at Anthony's who seems to know all about it.

This episode contains examples of:

  • All Men Are Perverts: Casey, Dan, and even Jeremy try to convince the women these are the kinds of desperate times where people have sex. It doesn't work.
  • Call-Back: Dan says the conductor of the L.A. Philharmonic is from Helsinki, which Casey correctly identifies as being from Finland. Also, Casey reminds Dan if he moves to L.A., he wouldn't be able to see Charlie as much.
  • Foreshadowing: The mysterious stranger who feeds Dana information.
  • Get Out!:
    Dan: Get out.
  • Hypocritical Humor: A few examples. First, everyone tries to take credit for the line "John Rocker's a doofus", until Dana calls them out for it, saying the line might scare off potential buyers, after which everyone immediately backs off from taking credit. Plus, when Natalie admits to Dana privately she was responsible, Dana says, "Should have given out his home number." Then, when Elliot brings flowers to his office, Dan claims he wasn't trying to flirt with him the night before, and when Elliot says the flowers aren't from him, responds, "Like it'd kill you to give me flowers once in a while?"
  • Spit Take: A variation; Dan drops his glass when he meets someone who used to know Rebecca, and realizes she's the one who sent him flowers.
  • Tempting Fate: Dana brings this up as the reason why they keep going to Anthony's every night; she doesn't want to change the luck.
  • Title Drop:
Natalie: There's still the power of fate.
    Jeremy: La Forza Del Destino.
    • Meaningful Echo: The stranger at Anthony's uses that phrase at the end of the episode when Dana tells him what they've been discussing.
  • Too Much Information: Dana is continually squicked out at Natalie alternating between hating Jeremy's guts and wanting to let him "do things" to her.
