* BittersweetEnding: Played with. While Squidward does end up losing his kelp garden, he did get to enjoy his giant clarinet as an apology gift... until he grows small again. Either way, at least he is back to normal and is safe from being hunted down.

* LackOfEmpathy: Downplayed with Squidward. Not that the townspeople aren't overreacting any less, but it's still one reason why he wouldn't ''immediately'' know to say "bless you" to a sneezing fish.

The episode begins with Squidward waking up and going outside to begin his gardening for the day but finds his kelp garden has wilted. Having just the thing to fix this, he pulls out a bottle of “Kelp Grow” to make them better than ever. But things go south when [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick start messing with the bottle by spraying Squidward’s nose to the point that it drags around on the ground. The dimwitted duo then proceed to mess around town doing “good deeds” like making Gary’s shell way too big and growing Mr. Krab’s penny into something the Joker would use, so Mr. K can make some “big money” no less. Squidward finally catches up with them and demands they fix his nose. They try spraying it with the bottle but only make his nose even bigger; seeing that holding the bottle upside down doesn’t work they “even him out” but only turn him into a freak. The excess chemicals cause Squidward to even out… by growing him even larger. Squidward chases after the two and rampages through town. The townsfolk only relent if Squidward proves he’s a nice giant which means “do free favors for everyone”. Squid becomes fed up and is chased out of town, forced to sleep on coral in the town’s outskirts. Feeling sorry for what they did, [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick make a giant clarinet for Squidward. While he loves it, the “Kelp Grow” wears off and he becomes too small to play it. At least he still has his kelp garden; or he did before [=SpongeBob=] and Patrick destroyed it to make the clarinet. The episode ends with Squidward chasing after them.

The episode begins with Patrick realizing he can’t smell Squidward’s flowers leading to [=SpongeBob=] suggesting he can just buy a nose at a plastic surgeon’s office. After the surgery, Patrick discovers the wonderful smells Bikini Bottom has… and the bad ones as well. He becomes disgusted from onion rings and his rancid house before moving on to Squidward’s imported cheese (which he destroys), [=SpongeBob=]’s sweat, the Krusty Krab’s greasy smell (which he “fixes” with scented candles), and even Sandy’s natural smell (“Take a bath, fleabag!”). The rest of the gang can’t take it and decide that that nose has got to go and they’ll torture Patrick if they have to. [=SpongeBob=] is forced to man up and tells them that his nose is the problem. They form a giant ball of filth and leave it in Patrick’s yard. When he flips the rock up to answer the knock he gets a full blast of stink; his nose can’t take it so it withers and dies as the gang view eagerly. While the rest are happy, Patrick is not. After all, all he wanted was a nose like everyone else. As a way to say “sorry” they bury the remains of the nose. [=SpongeBob=] is disheartened by it but Squidward says he doesn’t care which leads to Patrick (with ears that would make an elephant grin) to say “I heard that.” End of episode.
