Go To

Original air date: 4/4/2012

The town's big Easter egg hunt is in jeopardy when rumors of a dangerous beast lurking in the woods start circulating, but Kyle doesn't believe it.

"Jewpacabra" contains examples of:

  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Despite living in a world where ghosts, monsters, dragons, zombies, gnomes, evil gods, parallel dimensions, and talking crap show up on a normal basis, cryptozoology, of all things, is where Kyle puts his foot down (although maybe it is due to Cartman's anti-Semitic story, rather than cryptozoology itself).
  • Belief Makes You Stupid: While it is a bit of an underwhelming depiction, the Finding Bigfoot crew are predictably portrayed as bunch of worthless, fanatical half-wits who constantly use their “scientific” methods to hunt imaginary animals. One of them can’t even tell the difference between a “Rabbit-Man” and a boy just wearing an animal costume.
  • Chupacabra: The creature Cartman makes up has some traits of this Mexican monster.
  • Easter Bunny: The people from Sooper Foods dress Cartman as one in an attempt to lure in the Jewpacabra.
  • Easter Episode: The episode takes place during both Easter and Passover. While the other kids are prepping for the Easter egg hunt, Cartman tries to get it cancelled, believing that the titular Jewish cryptid is going to kill the other kids.
  • Evil Is Petty: The Jewpacabra story was initially fabricated by Cartman as an elaborate means to make sure every kid but himself would be evicted from the Easter Egg Hunt. It becomes convoluted however, when Cartman begins Believing His Own Lies.
  • Instant Sedation: Cartman gets knocked out by Bobo's Tranquilizer Dart in a matter of seconds.
  • Mood Whiplash: In a Dream Sequence, Cartman is singing a sweet song to a little lamb, only to watch it be horribly slaughtered as a sacrifice as the Hebrews prepare for the last Plague.
  • Save the Villain: Kyle begrudgingly decides to cut Cartman free from his chains, walks him home, and puts him to bed.
  • Sweet Sheep: A darker take on this trope occurs when Cartman encounters a little lamb who decides to cuddle with. However, it gets sacrificed which freaks Cartman out. He also runs past dead lambs who got scarified and people preparing to kill them.
  • Tranquilizer Dart: Bobo shoots Cartman with a tranquilizer dart after mistaking him with a Bunny Man.
  • Your Head A-Splode: In Cartman's fantasy of the Twelve Plagues, this is how God kills him.
