This episode contains examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: For Wario. This episode focuses mostly on him as he attempts to find ways to convince Samus to be his date at the "ultimate house party" he sets up on behalf of Bowser.
  • All Men Are Perverts: What changes Bowser's mind about having a huge party at his house? Why, Dedede bringing along his Zero Suits, of course!
  • Bad Vibrations: The force of Wario-Man and Dedede colliding causes an earthquake felt all over the world.
  • Big Eater: Bowser, who practically hoards all the food the BS Society brings to the party (though he insists he'll only take any meat). He does cave in and allow Peach to have some, after admitting her share of the meal was intended to be his seconds.
  • Breather Episode: With the previous episode focusing on the battle between Bowser and Pikachu (along with Bowser's Ascent Mode debuting there), this episode is the light-hearted afterparty.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: Wario, prior to his transformation into Wario-Man:
Wario: Behold, Dedede, as I eat the garlic infused with this great power! WAAAAAAARIO-MAN!
  • Calling Your Attacks: Both Wario and Dedede do this before charging at each other.
  • Compete for the Maiden's Hand: Wario and Dedede fight to see who gets the honor of earning a date with Samus.
  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud?: Wario's opening monologue about pursuing Samus isn't just his thoughts: he says it all out loud...which means Samus gets to hear her stalker talk about how he's turned on by her "assets." He also begins to describe what Team Bowser did after the exhibition match in the last episode, only for Bowser to wonder who he's talking to.
  • Dirty Old Man: When Meta Knight is too insecure to engage with one of the Zero Suits, Bowser's mentor Charizard is more than glad to take her off his hands.
  • Dismissing a Compliment: Briefly averted with Samus: she responds with genuine sincerity when Wario compliments her beauty...then promptly sends him flying.
  • Disney Death: Wario seemingly falls to his doom after Dedede knocks him off a cliff. He survives by propelling himself back up with his gas.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Invoked by Samus, who does some seductive moves to tease Wario. Played for Laughs with Bowser and Peach, who are distracted by Dedede's Zero Suits and Metal Gears, respectively.
  • Filler: Partially. While the main focus is on Wario and the house party, this episode sees the official formation of Team Sonic.
  • Food as Bribe: Sonic bribes Dedede with his favorite foods in exchange for Team Sonic's registration after the deadline passed.
  • Foreshadowing: For a filler episode of all things. In the remake, Meta Knight ends up meeting Charizard, who encourages him to join the Saffron City Gym to keep up his strength, which will lead into the events of "Meta-Physical".
  • Friendly War: Fox and Liz fight over food, though by the end it's revealed they simply enjoyed fighting each other and express a desire to go at it again.
  • Growling Gut: Fox's stomach growls just before accepting Liz's challenge.
  • Innocuously Important Episode: Seeing as though the plot focuses on Wario's efforts to win Samus over during a celebratory party Bowser's having, one wouldn't be at fault for thinking this episode isn't super important in the grand scheme of things. What prevents this from being a flat-out filler episode is the fact we do see the formation and development of Team Sonic, as well as see them score their first win in the tournament.
  • Jizzed in My Pants: Displayed in the weirdest way possible. After Samus distracts Wario with her feminine charms, Wario unleashes a fart which propels him skyward, the gas being a metaphor for cumming.
  • Paralyzing Fear of Sexuality: Meta Knight is not comfortable around Dedede's Zero Suits, and flat out denies the advances of one. Averted with his interactions with the much more modest Zelda, whom he begins to form a friendship with.
  • Power of Love: Said word-for-word by Wario. Comes off as cliche to Samus and the others.
  • Romantic Wingman: Wario recruits Dedede to be one for him. It backfires horribly when Samus not only is stricken by Dedede, but Dedede wholeheartedly plans to accept her advances.
  • Say My Name: Right before Wario and Dedede clash, they both yell out each other's name while charging at each other.
  • Ship Tease: Meta Knight is enamored with Zelda's poetry recitation when she makes her presence known in Hotel Bowser. Near the end of the episode, the two of them are seen having a pleasant conversation, with Meta Knight offering to dance with her.
  • Theme Music Power-Up: Parodied and Played for Laughs. The opening theme from Gurren Lagann, Soriano Days, plays when Wario is encouraged by the Power of Love, transforming into Wario-Man. Why this music is playing is so that he can have the strength to try and win Samus over, about to fight the equally lecherous and not as battle savvy President Dedede.
  • Transformation Sequence: Wario into Wario-Man.
  • Xanatos Speed Chess: Wario comes up with at least three schemes to earn Samus' affection over the course of the episode, and even then the third one is only treated as a partial success.
