Summary: With Ganon beaten for the time being, Bowser and Mario resume their age-old battle. The fight is interrupted when Samus and her group of mercenaries arrive, intending on presenting Bowser to The Creator Himself.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Sonic. With Captain Falcon dead, he's the "sole speed demon" of the World of Brawl.
Sonic: Well, Sonic, you've got what you've always wanted: you're the sole speed demon in the world. It's like I think this is a game or something. I may be fast... but I'm so damn stupid.
  • Downer Beginning: The episode opens with Link washing up on the shore of Isle Delfino, having survived his encounter with Team Falcon and Sonic. While thinking back on Ike's words, he notes that he's come too far to stop his path of evil, and quips that Ike might get along with the Link that comes after his demise. This is followed by Captain Falcon's ghost (after his Heroic Sacrifice in the previous episode) meeting with Sonic, Luigi, and Marth one last time to say goodbye before he ascends to the heavens. This is all before the episode title appears, set to "Mad World" by Gary Jules.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Shadow the Hedgehog and Roy make their first visual appearances in the series here, though Shadow is the only one who speaks, albeit telepathically to Sonic. They wouldn't get properly introduced until a few episodes later.
  • Go Through Me: After the three mercenaries manage to paralyze Bowser, Peach quickly gets between Samus and the immobilized Bowser, refusing to let him be captured, quoting the trope name itself. The BS Society also join her side in defending Bowser from the mercenary trio.
  • Heroic RRoD: Bowser, having just finished fighting against Ganondorf, along with a grueling battle with Mario, has overexerted himself. By the time Samus, Snake, and Wolf get into the mix, Bowser acknowledges he can barely keep up to defend himself.
  • Holding the Floor: Peach invokes this, asking Zelda to explain why Samus, Snake, and Wolf are going after Bowser, along with the Creator's plans. She not only would she get answers from the secretive Zelda, but Meta Knight also notes that Peach is stalling for time so that the spells she casted using the Star Rod would help bring her back to full strength. Unfortunately, after Zelda explains everything, the mercenaries waste no time in giving the others a second chance to retaliate by throwing a smoke bomb and blasting Bowser with Samus' arm cannon in the chaos.
  • Kill It with Ice: How Mario manages to stop Bowser, although he doesn't actually kill him.
  • Put Down Your Gun and Step Away: A variant, where the team of Snake, Samus, and Wolf move in to capture Bowser. In order to dissuade the heroes on the sidelines from intervening, Wolf holds Peach at gunpoint, threatening to shoot her if they try and stop them. When Bowser is almost captured, it takes a combination of Peach taking advantage of Wolf being distracted by the fight and Sonic using Chaos Control to warp and Bowser to safety, that gets her out and fighting back against the lupine mercenary.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: Captain Falcon's ghost makes one final appearance before passing on, commemorating Sonic on him being the fastest thing alive.
  • Too Much for Man to Handle: Samus' Plasma Cannon fires energy shots intended to dismantle a trophy's matrix. When it hit Bowser's minion, the energy was enough to cause the minion to implode...the same can't be said for Bowser, where he is immobilized. However, he takes the power imbued within the shot and stacks his Final Smash on top of it. This allows him to transform into Giga Bowser imbued with the power of his Ascent Mode.
  • Vagueness Is Coming: Falcon's ghost tells his teammates and Sonic that he had a vision before he sacrificed his last stock, where he saw a large battle taking place in the near future, on a world-wide scale.
