Sparks is in Deep Diver, telling a story through flashback. Sparks has created a new drug...sorry, "herbal supplement" named Stimutacs, mostly made out of kelp, and offers it to the rest of the crew. They quickly become addicted and exhibit strange side effects, like Marco being able to dig his toes into titanium, Stormy super smart and floating, and Debbie able to bend a wrench.
Quinn confronts Sparks about the drug. Sparks refuses to tell him what the secret ingredient is and proudly admits that he's going to start charging for pills. When Quinn tells him that drugs have to be tested on animals first, Sparks argues that animals don't need the stuff humans need to make them not feel miserable. Seemingly swayed by Sparks' argument, Quinn takes a pill and goes to get a glass a water to swallow it with. In reality, he's analyzing it under a microscope and learns that the secret ingredient is toxin from the fugu, a poisonous fish. Sparks quickly injects Quinn with a blowgun dart filled with a Stimutacs solution and gets him addicted too.
As the addicts try to demand more pills from Sparks, they go on a slight tangent about the sun god Marduk. Sparks suddenly becomes concerned when they start refusing to eat and their health declines because of 'Marduk.' After Quinn calls Sparks a bitch, he tries to refuse to sell pills, but drops them when the addicts get too close. As they're distracted by getting as many pills as possible, Sparks escapes.
He readies Deep Diver for transport with his luggage and the entire supply of Stimutacs, but the addicts have followed him and are trying to get through. Sparks tells them there's no more Stimutacs since he farmed the fugu to extinction and escapes while the addicts can do nothing more than watch.
Sparks reveals that somehow Sealab blew up again, he's downing his own creation like it's candy, and he apparently can see Marduk, who encourages him to eat more pills.
- The Aggressive Drug Dealer: Sparks, until he runs out of Stimutacs.
- Body Horror: Downplayed, but as the crew descends into insanity from their addiction to Stimutacs, they become emaciated and their skin begins to grey from their lack of sustenance. Marco is seen with sores all over him.
- Fantastic Drug: Stimutacs, 99% kelp, 1% fugu venom. And also, capable of giving others super strength, or, in the case of Stormy, super intelligence. And also, causes hallucinations, delusions, aggression, and irrationality.
- A God Am I: Stormy believes this through Stimutacs.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Sealab's dependence on Stimutacs leads to the fugu's extinction.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Spark genuinely becomes concerned for the crew when their delusions of Marduk causes them to starve themselves.
- The Stinger: Marduk on guitar and Sparks on drums jamming.
