Recap: Puppet Master
When the station the Four were aboard falls to earth, the residual radiation does something strange to the sculpting clay on which it lands. In the hands of a vengeful artist—who just so happens to be Alicia's father—it could prove dangerous. Can the Fantastic Four overcome this new enemy when it may be the members of their own team they are fighting?

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Archnemesis Dad: Alicia, who has a part saving the day in this episode, is the Puppet Master's daughter.
  • Berserk Button: Never mind-control Ben and make him hurt his friends.
  • Big "NO!": Mr. Masters when the space station falls on his clay.
  • Expospeak Gag:
Reed: Johnny, I need you to oxidize the upper geostratum of sediment to isolate the irradiated particles
Johnny: Okay, I know you're talking to me, but that's about it.
    Reed: Bake the beach.
  • Film the Hand: Ben when the Puppet Master makes Reed humiliate himself on live TV.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Mr. Masters believes he should be the one getting praised for his art, not his colleagues.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Or from everyday artist to one of the Four's most difficult foes.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Alicia to there controlled Ben. It buys her enough time to free him by smashing the statue.
  • People Puppets: First Ben, then Johnny.
  • Playing with Puppets: After Puppet Master finds out what his clay can do, he makes Reed's powers go out of control for fun.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: the Puppet Master.
