- All There in the Manual: Averted. A good portion of the episode is devoted to recapping The Movie, in case the viewer hasn't seen it. Some of it remains puzzling for those who haven’t seen it, such as Kimberly and Jason appearing in the flashback but not mentioned directly.
- The Cameo: Rocky appears in the beginning with his back still healing from his fall in the movie. He departs from the series with the goal of running a karate school, giving his blessings to his replacement, Justin.
- Creator Cameo: Stunt coordinator Jeff Pruitt appears as a member of Tommy's pit crew. He's even named
Jeff. Plus there’s ADR Director Scott Page-Pagter's voicing of Porto throughout the show. - Flashback with the Other Darrin: Hilary Shepard's Divatox is seen in two shots during the recap, though Carol Hoyt's voice is dubbed over the footage to maintain the illusion.
- Forced Transformation: Bulk and Skull are turned into chimpanzees by Elgar for being in his way. They'll stay this way for the duration of the original team's tenure.
- Second Episode Introduction: Porto wasn’t in the movie, so his introduction here counts as such.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: Jason and Kimberly aren’t referred to in dialogue, let alone one where they are currently. Kimberly perhaps returned to Florida for the Pan Global Games but Jason remains completely sketchy.
