  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: Sensei and Shane, then Sensei and Dustin.
  • Gravity Master: At Lothor's suggestion, this is the special power that Marah and Kapri give Footzilla.
  • I Always Wanted to Say That: "Go for Sensei. I always wanted to say that."
  • Lampshade Hanging:
Kapri: Okay, so they just like blew Footzilla to bits. What now?
Lothor: How long have you been working here? You make him big, okay? They blow 'em up, and we make 'em big. Happens every time! How could you not get that part?
  • In the Blood: Dustin and his father share a love of motocross. The old man even says he taught Dustin everything he knows.
  • Minion with an F in Evil: Marah and Kapri recognize they could use some formal training, so they go back to school and sign up for the intern program. It goes as well as you'd expect.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: During the attempt to get Shane and Sensei back in their proper bodies, Dustin prematurely extends his hands for a low-five to celebrate, but he ends up connecting with the energy field. Shane gets back in his body, but now it's Dustin and Sensei who are switched.
  • Not So Above It All: Sensei remarks it's actually pretty fun to ride around in the Zords.
  • Shout-Out to Shakespeare: Lothor finds something odd about "Shane" demonstrating increased skills.
  • Voices Are Mental: A live-action example.
  • Writing Lines: How Lothor punishes Marah and Kapri in the end. They had to write "I will not destroy my Uncle Lothor's evil empire" one thousand times and were then told to do it all over again.
