A big sacrifice, a Pink one
Psycho Pink has barely survived her battle against the Galaxy and Space Rangers in the previous episode, and now sets her sights on the powerful Savage Sword to kill both Cassie and Kendrix, creating a powerful storm which threatens to destroy Terra Venture, with the storm growing more potent when Cassie's Astro Morpher is thrown into the mix. With Cassie suffering, the Space and Galaxy Rangers must find a way to save their friends, destroy Psycho Pink and save Terra Venture, but one of them may have to make the ultimate sacrifice to save everyone.Tropes
- Big Damn Heroes:
- When Psycho Pink grows and looms over Kendrix and Cassie, the Galaxy Megazord arrives and begins fighting.
- When Psycho Pink starts beating the Galaxy Megazord, the remaining Space Rangers form the Astro Megazord and open fire.
- Big "NO!": Leo screaming, "Kendrix! NO!!!!" as he and the other Galaxy Rangers realize what Kendrix is about to do.
- Bittersweet Ending: The last of the Psycho Rangers is gone for good, the Savage Sword is destroyed and Terra Venture is safe, but Kendrix has died and the other Rangers need to find her missing Quasar Saber which parted to an unknown location.
- But Now I Must Go: The Space Rangers make vague references to a mission back on Earth as a reason why they can't stay.
- Fake Shemp: Used with the Space Rangers in the last scene; no doubt because behind-the-scenes troubles meant it was shot at the last minute.
- Fauxshadow: Cassie riding on the Wildcat Galactabeast and later feeling responsible for Kendrix's death were meant to set her up becoming the new Pink Galaxy Ranger.
- Heroic RRoD: Both meta and in-universe. After one Ranger nearly dies from having her power stolen due to it being linked to her life force, and another nearly dies due to being unable to handle the power, this is the episode that shows that even the Ranger powers cannot prevent a Ranger from dying.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Kendrix sacrifices herself to destroy the Savage Sword.
- It Has Been an Honor:Leo: It was an honor fighting with you guys.
Andros: No, Leo, the honor was all ours. - Not-So-Harmless Villain: Not that any of the Psycho Rangers were actually harmless, but Psycho Pink was killed fairly early into the Psycho Rangers debut arc. In addition to being the only Psycho Ranger to survive the battle with the Space and Galaxy Rangers last episode, here she manages to procure an energy sucking sword that ends up (briefly) killing Kendrix.
- Obi-Wan Moment: Kendrix has one with her team.
- Real Life Writes the Plot: Kendrix died due to her actress (Valerie Vermon) being diagnosed with leukemia and had to leave the series to undergo treatment. Thankfully, she's okay now and has since retired from acting.
- Say My Name: Leo screams Kendrix's name out just as she sacrifices herself.
- Wham Episode: Kendrix sacrifices herself to stop a storm caused by the Savage Sword, becoming the first (and, until Once and Always, only) Ranger to die in the line of duty.
- Wham Shot: The late Kendrix Morgan, ready to cross over.
