A lightning storm fries the holodeck of the Astro Megaship and materializes the Craterites.
Tropes:
- The Artifact: The Craterites appear to be jumping from the Dark Fortress when they first escape the Astro Megaship. This is because they originally were the foot soldiers of the Negiregia, who in-turn resided in the Death Neziros ship (In Space's Dark Fortress) in Megaranger. The Quantrons replaced them for In Space.
- Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Coincidentally or not, the Simu-Deck is never again mentioned after this outing.
- Crying Wolf: Patrick's full of tall tales.
- Holodeck Malfunction: The Astro Megaship is essentially an Enterprise-D Expy, complete with a holodeck, so one of these was inevitable.
- Replicant Snatching: Non-lethal variety. The Craterites tie their victims up and assume their forms.
