Japanese Title: Enter Kasumi! Togepy and the Mirage Kingdom!!

Original Airdate: September 25, 2003

US Airdate: September 25, 2004

Misty reunites with the group after she is invited to a Togepi Festival in the Mirage Kingdom. The twerps, and Team Rocket, end up caught in a web of intrigue as they find one of the kingdom's retainers, Colonel Hansen, attempting to usurp the throne.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • Bad Boss: Colonel Hansen throws Meowth at James's head and talks down to the trio quite a bit. Even though they managed to bring Togepi to him, he tells them that they failed because they didn't follow orders exactly.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Considering their track record when they try to steal a Pokémon directly, Team Rocket simply captures Misty and Togepi and brings them to the Mirage Kingdom. Colonel Hansen doesn't appreciate this.
  • Commuting on a Bus: Misty and Togepi return for this two-parter.
  • Evil Chancellor: Colonel Hansen wants to depose the royal family and crown himself king.
  • Mama Bear: Misty, when Togepi is threatened.
Colonel Hansen: You will hand over your Togepi and leave my kingdom at once.
Misty: Togepi? (glares) Not in ten million years!
  • Meaningful Name: "Sarah" is a Hebrew name that means "Princess", which is exactly what she is.
  • No-Sell: Shedinja takes no damage from Corsola's Spike Cannon. (It is a Ghost-type, and has the ability Wonder Guard after all.)
  • Out-of-Character Moment: Misty not being excited over a Water-type Pokémon: Brock's Mudkip. Usually, she would fawn over Water-type Pokémon as her specialty, but not that time nor any other time in the series.
  • Running Gag: Misty pulling Brock's ear when he flirts with Sarah. Needless to say, this will carry on to Max in later episodes.
  • Smug Snake: Colonel Hansen is arrogant and underestimates his enemies, and had Team Rocket do much of the work for him. He also berates Team Rocket for not doing exactly what he told them, when he may actually be the least competent of the four.
  • True Blue Femininity: Princess Sarah wears a blue dress.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Colonel Hansen tells Team Rocket that they "failed" even though they successfully captured Togepi and brought it to him. His objection is that he didn't want Misty and her friends along for the ride.
