• Paper-Thin Disguise: Team Rocket's plan to find the right Spinda is to bait it using Meowth disguised as a Spinda. This trope is lampshaded when Meowth calls it pathetic and says no Spinda would fall for it. And yet, not only does one fall for it, Team Rocket also accidentally drops their net onto Meowth instead!
