Surreal is the name of the game when the twerps see a rock concert put on by a trainer and their Alolan Dugtrio. When an Alolan Diglett drives a wedge into the band, Team Rocket sees an opportunity to butt in.
This episode contains examples of the following tropes:
- Continuity Nod: Several of the wigs in Team Rocket's wig shop resemble previous characters, including May, Brock, and potentially Lysandre with a lion mask, among others.
- Hostility on the Set: In-Universe: All three heads of Dugtrio get into a fight on who gets to sing lead. They later find a way around it by taking turns while spinning akin to Tri Attack.
- Not So Above It All: Kiawe reluctantly decides to go see the concert and wear a wig. After the concert, he acts as if he's treating the event like a diety.
- Shout-Out: When the Diglett groupie frees Dugtrio, Team Rocket appears in the style of Toshusai Sharaku's Ōtani Oniji III as Yakko Edobei with Katsushika Hokusai's famous The Great Wave Off Kanagawa woodcut in the background.
