Go To

Pokemon Hunter J is back and this time she is targeting a group of Shieldon. As Ash and his friends clash with her, Gary Oak, Ash's former rival-turned-researcher, arrives on the scene to help them out. It turns out that Gary is currently working with the Shieldon as part of his research. Ash must now team up with his former rival to lead the Shieldon to safety while avoiding J and her goons.

Tropes

  • Adaptational Jerkass: In the Spanish dub, J is much angrier when her client bails, telling her henchmen, "Go back to Digimon, you useless idiots!" to which they reply with a Big "NO!"
  • The Bus Came Back: Gary Oak makes another return appearance.
  • Evil Is Petty: J is so miffed when her client cancels the deal that she instructs her henchmen to contact him with the news that they will not do business with him again.
  • Missed Him by That Much: Officer Jenny arrives just seconds after J escapes in her airship.
  • Never Say "Die": When Team Rocket is trapped in J's ship, they are told that J will "decide their fate" when she returns, but given her track record, it wouldn't have been good.
  • Only in It for the Money: Once J's client cancels their deal in order to avoid the cops, J immediately stops trying to steal the Shieldon and flees, having lost her chance of getting paid.
  • Revenge: Team Rocket tries to break into J's ship and steal all her Pokemon to get back at her for kidnapping Meowth in her last appearance.
  • The Spook: J's client seems to be some kind of businessman, but apart from that we know nothing about him. J also enigmatically says, "He sure gets around," when told that he'll be coming to pick up Shieldon in person.
  • Take That!: Against Digimon in the Spanish dub.
  • You Have Failed Me: J berates her henchmen after they blow their first attempt to catch Shieldon.
Henchman: We were attacked by an unknown trainer with an Electivire and were unable to capture Shieldon.
    J: Unable to capture?!
Henchman: Don't worry, we can and will succeed.
J: Well, for your sake, I hope so.
  • You Meddling Kids: One of J's henchmen snarls, "I've about had it with you kids," before attacking Ash's group.
