Film watched: ''Film/TheBladeMaster'' aka ''Cave Dwellers''

Like ''Film/PodPeople,'' this film featured an opening credit sequence that took scenes from a different movie. O'Keeffe was allegedly amused by the show's take on the film and called Best Brains ([[Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000 MST3K]]'s production company) to personally request a copy of the episode. It is one of the most popular episodes of the series. The [=MST3K=] version of the movie is available in both VHS and DVD formats. This movie is often cited as the movie you want to introduce somebody to the concept of [=MST3K=] and riffing on movies in general.

[[AC:Segment 5]]
* Crow angrily analyzes out the continuity problems of today's film to the Mads.

!!The ''Series/MysteryScienceTheater3000'' presentation has examples of:
* AnachronismStew: The continuity problems that are analyzed by Crow are treated as such.
* CatchPhrase: [[MemeticMutation "How much Keefe is in this movie?" "Miles O'Keefe"]]
** [=AKA=] "Miles O'Beef"
** Quoth Mary Jo Pehl: "Every inch of Miles is a mile I want to travel." Or something to that effect.
** Side-note: Every time they have a chance, [=MST=]ies in {{MST}}ing fanfics of ''[[Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine Deep Space Nine]]'' will recycle this joke. "How much Brien is in this story?" "Miles O'Brien!"
* CelebrityResemblance: Thong is referred to as [[Series/TheAddamsFamily Gomez]], and Servo jokes that he was played by former [[Music/FrankZappa Mother of Invention]] Jimmy Carl Black.
* DistractedByTheSexy / FreudianSlipperySlope: When Zor confronts Ator and Mila in the snake-worshiper sacrificial room (not helped by Zor actually poking Ator's big muscled pec for a few seconds).
-->'''Joel:''' Do you mind if I cup one of your pecs?
-->'''Crow:''' Tit's all over- I mean, ''it's all over'' for you, Ator! I know we've been breast- ''best'' friends. Nipple.
* GettingCrapPastTheRadar: "It's Speedy Delivery Guy, and has he got a package!"
* HoYay: [[invoked]] Mike Nelson in the ''Amazing Colossal Guide'' gets disturbingly lyrical about O'Keefe's bod.
* HypocriticalHumor: "Mockery is the ignorant man's weapon."
* InvisibleMonsters: "I don't believe it, they were too cheap to hire villains!"
* RunningGag:
** Gypsy's other new name is Mrs. Richard Basehart.
** Joel getting Thong's name wrong.
** "Dad?"
** "No-o!"
** "It's not a comic book! [[InsistentTerminology It's a Graphic Novel]]"
* TemptingFate: Servo complains at the end of the episode that this was 'the worst movie' the Mads had ever sent them. [[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S04E21MonsterAGoGo Considering]] [[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S04E24ManosTheHandsOfFate some]] [[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S05E15WildWorldOfBatwoman of]] [[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S06E21TheBeastOfYuccaFlats the]] [[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S08E19InvasionOfTheNeptuneMen films]] [[Recap/MysteryScienceTheater3000S03E23TheCastleOfFuManchu to come]], he REALLY shouldn't have said that.
** This is also a reference to a frequent situation in the writer's room. Often someone would state that the film they were currently writing for was the "worst movie ever" only to be proven wrong in the future.
*** Frank would tell Joel and the Bots that he and Dr. Forrester have it worse than they do: "We have to watch you watching the movie."
* SickeningCrunch: In the foley sketch, Joel demonstrates to Tom & Crow how to simulate the sound of breaking vertebrae by crunching fresh celery.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: The reaction by Joel and the 'bots to Ator's ''modern'' hang glider.
-->'''Servo:''' Oh, come ''on.''
-->'''Crow:''' What the…?!
-->''(Servo laughs)''
-->'''Joel:''' [[SarcasmMode Terrific.]] ''(childlike voice)'' [[Series/ThePeeWeeHermanShow I'm the luckiest boy in the world!]] I have slipped the surly bounds of Earth and touched the hand of God!
-->'''Servo:''' [[{{Understatement}} This is a little ridiculous.]] Okay, so... he kills a deer, he tans the hides, he stretches the skins, he makes an anodized aluminum frame, he learns how to extrude and weld… all in about five minutes, huh? ... [[BrickJoke learned aerodynamics...]]
