Lord Zedd requires a bride! He has Goldar, Squatt, and Baboo capture Kimberly to serve that honor. She's dressed as Rita Repulsa, and placed under a spell. Of course, the spell doesn't quite work, but she makes the most out of it by annoying the Evil Space Aliens. A small, prized mirror Tommy won for Kim is turned into the Mirror Maniac monster.
Tropes
- Accidental Truth: The treasure map Bulk and Skull receive did lead them to the Power Rangers, even though it was just a free muffins ticket on Ernie's Lunch Bar.
- Arbitrary Skepticism: Billy—a member of a team of magical warriors led by an ancient sorcerer, fighting against bad guys who use evil spells left and right—says that there's no reason to believe in fortune-tellers. He probably doesn't believe most humans could have any kind of power without a Power Morpher or some other magical object.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Averted. Goldar kidnaps Kimberly and uses a mind-control spell which will turn her into a copy of Rita for Zedd to marry. The spell doesn't work... but Kim does a pitch-perfect Rita impersonation (including "I'm having a headache!") to hold Goldar, Squatt and Baboo off long enough to be rescued by Billy and Trini.
- Love Potion: Zedd tries to use one on Kimberly. It doesn't work, but she fakes it and abuses his minions.
- Riddle for the Ages: Why exactly didn't the love spell work on Kim?
- Walking Shirtless Scene: Richie wears only a vest while he's rollerblading.
