Tropes

  • Almost Kiss: Zack and Angela were about to kiss when Bulk and Skull cause a mess in the restaurant.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: Angela makes her final appearance here despite Zack finally winning her over at the end. It's unknown what became of their relationship up until Zack left with Trini and Jason to go to Switzerland.
  • Dreadful Musician: Zigzagged. Bulk and Skull may not be able to sing, but the end of the episode shows that they actually are good with their instruments.
  • French Jerk: One waiter at the French restaurant seemed a little stuffy. Noticeable by his reaction to Zach trying to speak French to him and for Bulk and Skull causing a mess. He's last seen throwing his towel and walks away in a huff.
  • Innocuously Important Episode:
    • The only time the Megazord fights the monster underwater. The only time an underwater fight happens in the entire series.note
    • It is also the final battle for the original Zords, being replaced by the Thunderzords in the following season.
    • Also, this is the final time an original Putty would be seen, as they would be replaced by Z-Putties in the following season.
  • Pet the Dog: Bulk and Skull play music for Zack while he sings to Angela. This is the first genuinely nice thing the duo do for the rangers and it would only grow on from here.
  • Serendipitous Survival: Thanks to Bulk and Skull, Zack and Tommy end up being away when the Pearls of Stillness activate.
  • Taken for Granite: Everyone in range of the Pearls of Stillness upon activation are frozen solid. Fortunately, those who come near after the spell triggers are unaffected.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Sure Zack, that suspicious old man who knows about you wanting the pearl earrings despite you never saying that to him and only takes what you have instead of the standard retail price can't possibly be a Putty in disguise.
  • Work Off the Debt: Due to the mess they make, Bulk and Skull end up having to wash all the dishes in the restaurant. Skull looks on the bright side that they got all the frogs legs they could eat.
  • You Are Too Late: Jason, Billy, and Trini came too little too late to stop Angela from putting on the Pearls. Fortunately, Zach pushed the Oysterizer into the sea, breaking the spell.
  • You Look Familiar: Timothy Guest plays the Putty disguised as an old salesman, having previously played Monty Conte in "Trick or Treat".
