But he can't tell them what happened as the virus disrupted his memory chips and he's none the wiser. They surmise that someone broke in and did this... but who? They're alerted to Goldar's attack and prepare to confront him; teleportation is back online and Alpha begins the search for Zordon's presence. They fight the Putties as Goldar leers over them and Tommy observes from afar. Goldar slashes apart a mountain and they are forced to summon the Megazord. After a violet confrontation ("Prepare to feel the wrath of Rita Repulsa!"), Goldar disappears and Tommy reveals his presence. Leaping all the way up into the Megazord's cockpit, he attacks the Rangers, damages the controls and throws them to the ground.

Rita casts a spell and enchants the Sixth Power Coin with her dark magic. She sends the Putties after Tommy as another physical test; he easily defends himself in a city alleyway. As a Ranger with an authentic Power Coin, only he can offer Rita the opportunity to infiltrate the Command Center among her agents. He hacks Alpha with a disc containing a virus before ripping his power recharge cable out, and taunts Zordon. He tries to reason with Tommy, but the Green Ranger rips out the computer control panels and wiring, wrecking headquarters and disrupting Zordon's ability to project his presence into the tube and thus our dimension. A gleeful Rita grows Goldar to let him ramapage as her next move. The male Rangers are cleaning the Radbug and are joined by the girls. Kimberly is disappointed that Tommy has seemingly stood her up, but then Alpha hails them with a garbled and glitchy voice. Concerned, they realise their communicators won't transmit and the teleportation grid is also offline. Boarding the Radbug, they speed off to the Command Center.
