A young woman's body is found burning in an alley, an empty can of turpentine next to her. The "Jane Doe" is in her 20s, recently had extensions put in, and was bludgeoned to death. The extensions are tracked to a salon, who identify her as Brenna (no last name), who said she had a date at Gracie Mansion. She and another male accompanying her are seen in photographs at the party, and are determined to be crashing it. Jane Doe is identified as Brenna Lane. Senator Bryce Patterson is also seen in the pictures with her, and his manager Andrea tells the detectives that Brenna tried to engage the Senator in conversation a few times.
It eventually comes out that Brenna's brother Dustin was having an affair, not with Andrea as everyone thought, but with the senator's wife Camille. She killed Brenna because Brenna wanted her brother to date girls his age, then had Andrea clean up the mess
