Tired of having to walk to work, Kenan wants to buy a car. Despite being underage, he and Kel seek various ways to try and earn money for a car.
This episode provides examples of:
- Animal Superhero: Skunkator is said to be a half-man and half-skunk.
- Bad Liar: The person who sold Kenan the car that turned out to be stolen asks if he's over 16, to which Kenan nervously responds that he is. The salesman believes him, however.
- Can't Get Away with Nuthin': In the episode's epilogue, Roger finds out that Kenan tried to buy a stolen car, prompting him to extend the time he is grounded for.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: The interior of Kenan's house is slightly different from subsequent episodes. Also, Chris has a habit of eye twitching whenever something goes wrong, which he never does after this episode.
- Embarrassing Password: "The chipmunk has pneumonia."
- Grounded Forever: Both Kenan and Kel are grounded by Roger for a very long time, despite Kel not being his son.
- Harmless Villain: Once the car thief find that the police are after him, he makes a run for it, only to quickly bump into Chris.
- Non-Indicative First Episode: If not for the name of the episode, one wouldn't assume its the first episode.
- Oh, Crap!: Kenan's response once Roger finds out that the car he was trying to buy was stolen.
- Overly Long Gag: Kenan keeps forgetting the code line for the police to come in and arrest the car thief, to the point that he attempts to stall the thief.
- Phoney Call: Roger gets a phone call from what appears to be an enterprise running a contest, but it turns out to be Kel.
