Recap / Justice League Action S 1 E 47 Watchtower Tours

Go To

Booster Gold and Skeets bring in tourists to tour the Watchtower in order to make some extra cash. However, they inadvertently bring in supervillains in disguise as tourists.

This episode contains examples of the following:

  • Chirping Crickets: This occurs when Booster Gold asks the tourists if they recognize him. Lampshaded by Granny Goodness in disguise:
You've got a real bug problem here, bruiser.
  • Enemy Mine: Booster Gold and the various supervillains have to work together to defeat the Watchtower drones, as Booster is their "unknown associate".
  • I Meant to Do That: Booster tries to pass off his tour as a planned trap for the supervillains.
  • Mythology Gag: The Watchtower computer mistakes Booster Gold for Boodika, a Green Lantern, referencing the Running Gag in Booster's A Day in the Limelight episode from Justice League Unlimited, where people kept mistaking him for Green Lantern.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise:
    • Granny Goodness disguises herself with only a couple of shades and a coat. She even lampshades it:
    I'm barely wearing a disguise.
    • Toyman is no better; he wears only a fake mustache. Even after it inadvertently falls off, Booster Gold is still unable to recognize him!
    • Averted by the Joker, a Master of Disguise in the comics, who wears a latex mask.
  • Recognition Failure: The Watchtower computer system fails to recognize Booster Gold, instead identifying him as the other villains' "unknown accomplice". He isn't happy about it.
  • Shout-Out: Joker got the idea for his disguise from an old Bugs Bunny cartoon.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Booster inexplicably fails to recognize Granny Goodness and Toyman, which they both comment on.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Joker wasn't up to anything villainous this time; he thought taking the tour would be fun.
