Batman and Firestorm have to stop Mr. Freeze from freezing all of Gotham City using Killer Frost's power.
This episode provides examples of the following tropes:
- Broken Pedestal: Killer Frost had admired Mr. Freeze, causing her to be really upset when he betrays her and uses her as a Living Battery.
- The Dog Bites Back: Killer Frost repays Mr. Freeze's imprisonment and use of her as a source of cold by freezing him when he's about to freeze Firestorm.
- The Dragon: Killer Frost wants to be this to Mr. Freeze. However, he has other plans for her.
- Imagine Spot: Firestorm has three at once while out cold, represented as thought bubbles with him spending time together with Killer Frost, with the two even having kids in one of them.
- Living Battery: Mr. Freeze uses Killer Frost as a source of cold by supplying her with heat energy.
- Mythology Gag:
- When Batman arrives in his Batmobile to attack Mr. Freeze's ship, Freeze says "Ah, the Dark Knight returns."
- Firestorm has a crush on Killer Frost, who appears to return his feelings. This is similar to The Flash (2014), where their civilian identites, Ronnie Raymond and Caitlin Snow, were in a romantic relationship.
- Ship Tease: Killer Frost appears to reciprocate Firestorm's crush on her, particularly towards the end of the episode.
