Paco mistakes the sixth oni mask for a Halloween costume and puts it on resulting in some real Halloween horror.
- Combat Tentacles: The squid shadowkhan's main form of attack or restraining others.
- The Corrupter: Tarakudo is this to Paco throughout the course of the episode.
- Failed a Spot Check: Ratso and Chow fail to notice that Jackie didn't put up much of a fight in retrieving the oni mask. As Tarakudo points out, Jackie already had it.
- Halloween Episode: The episode takes place on Halloween and the beginning of the episode is fought in a costume shop.
- Irony: Jackie tries to pass off another mask as the oni mask. Ratso and Chow don't fall for it and throw him out of the costume shop. The oni mask had been stuck to the other one Jackie offered them. Jackie uses this chance to sneak away.Jackie: Trick for you, treat for me.
- Late to the Realization: When the Oni Mask-wearing Paco arrives at Uncle's shop, Uncle mistakes his Oni-transformed appearance for a costume and gives him candy, while Tohru actually realizes that the boy standing in front of them is wearing an oni mask and tries to warn Uncle. Jackie calls to explain that Paco is wearing the oni mask and Uncle lambasts him for failing to see him under his nose, only for Tohru to gesture towards the door they greeted Paco at. Cue Uncle crying out "AIYAH!!"
- Manchild: Ratso bemoans how all this mask-hunting is getting in the way of his trick-or-treating time.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero:
- Jackie brings the mask to Section 13 but gets distracted from taking it to the vault. This allows Paco to put it on.
- Tohru going back and forth giving candy to kids and helping Uncle with the removal potion causes him to accidentally give the key ingredient, a Japanese octopus tentacle, to a trick or treater.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: El Toro Fuerte never removes his mask...the fact that he does so in front of Paco is important since he is trying to tell Paco to fight the Oni Mask's influence.
- Shout-Out: Paco mistakes Tarakudo for The Great Pumpkin. After displaying initial surprise and confusion, Tarakudo rolls with it and offers to help Paco become as scary as possible.
- Tempting Fate: Upon losing the octopus tentacle for the mask removal potion, Tohru stated that he gave it to a ghost...cue Uncle and Tohru finding numerous children with bedsheet ghost costumes.
- Tentacle Rope: The squid shadowkhan form a wrestling ring for Paco and El Toro.
