Recap / Jackie Chan Adventures S 3 E 4 Aztec Rat Race

Go To

Jackie and Jade travel to Mexico to find the Nobel Rat and reunite with El Toro and Paco. Complications arise when the rat brings a statue of Mexican God Quetzalcoatl to life. Are our heroes in for the main event, and can they prevent Wong from claiming the power?

This episode provides examples of:

  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Uncle is shown putting ingredients in his chi spell cauldron including a fish with its eyes and head still intact and a lizard then comments "Lunch is ready.".
  • Captain Obvious: Invoked. Paco is surprised Quetzalcoatl can fly, shoot fire, and grow unbreakable vines. Jade points out he's god of the sky/fire/agriculture.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Paco's Super Moose Pen comes in handy when Jade uses the antlers on it to connect Daolong to the God of the Underworld because of the mark on his forehead that looks like horns.
  • Costume Evolution: Paco, having become a fan of Super Moose, wears Super Moose themed clothes and a pen that have predominent antlers on them. Jade uses them to have Quetzalcoatl attack Daolon Wong due to the horn-like mark on his forehead.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Jade doesn't find the rat cute but refuses to give him up to Daolon Wong. Likewise, Quetzalcoatl having finally realized Jade isn't the princess he's supposed to protect won't allow Daolon Wong to harm her.
  • Good Versus Good: Quetzalcoatl mistakes El Toro for God of the Underworld due to the bull symbol on his mask having horns.
  • Identical Stranger: Quetzalcoatal mistakes Jade for the Goddess of the Earth and El Toro as the God of the Underworld due to former looking like a similar image of the Earth Goddess and the bull on El Toro's mask making him look like he has horns.
  • Idiot Ball: Jackie mentions to El Toro to take off his mask to prove to Quetzalcoatl he's not God of the Underworld. El Toro refuses with his usual "El Toro Fuerte never removes his mask."
  • Living Toys: The Power of the Rat causes numerous Super Moose toys to come to life.
  • Rule of Three: Whenever Quetzalcoatl invokes one his powers (sky/fire/agriculture), Paco is surprised and notes He can "X", to which Jade points out that he's a god of a certain aspect, duh. Paco fills the blanks in by the third time though.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: El Toro is clearly afraid of rats, not that he'll ever admit it to Paco.
