Go To

When Daolon Wong captures Santa and plans to steal his Chi, Santa’s elves enlist the help of Jackie and the J-team to stop him. While Uncle, Jackie, El Toro and Viper battle Daolon Wong, Jade and Paco help Tohru fill in for Santa by delivering presents.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Jade, despite all the supernatural stuff she's been through and does believe in, starts the episode very convinced Santa Claus isn't real. Notably, Jackie, Tohru, Uncle, and Commander Black all accept his existence as established fact.
  • Bookends: The beginning of the episode has Captain Black tell Jackie that they can't find a copy of this video game Jade wants for Christmas. At the end of the episode, Santa has gifted her that exact same game.
  • Christmas Episode: Naturally.
  • Deadpan Snarker: After Tohru mistakenly hugs and kisses Captain Black.
Tohru: Captain Black! I am sorry.
Black: That's alright, Tohru. I'm often mistaken for elderly Japanese women.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: Jade assumes that Daolon Wong is attacking Santa because he hates Christmas. Uncle explains that the dark wizard instead wants to destroy the good chi that Santa possesses.
  • Insult of Endearment: When Uncle (reluctantly) gives Tohru's mother her gift, she calls him Billygoat as usual. But rather than her usual cruel tone, she sound very affectionate.
  • Mundane Utility: Captain Black and Section 13 using their tech to find a copy of a video game Jade wants should count as this.
  • No Ontological Inertia: When Daolon Wong is knocked down by Santa's reindeer and lets go of his scepter, the Snowlems and petrified Elf instantly turn back to normal.
  • Pet the Dog: Tohru's mom actually is nice to Uncle and willingly gives him a present.
  • Santa's Existence Clause: Jade doesn't believe in Santa Claus at the start of the episode. Notably, everyone else does and treats his existence as an established fact.
  • Saving Christmas: The “rescue Santa” version.
  • Snowlems: Daolon Wong turns several ordinary snowmen into these to fight the J-team.
  • Subbing for Santa: Tohru has to do this while the J-team frees the real Santa. It doesn’t go very well, to say the least.
  • Taken for Granite: Happens to the elf that accompanies the J-Team to fight Daolon Wong.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: When Tohru mentions his mother coming for the holidays, Uncle is shown sweating profusely while saying how excited he’ll be to see her. Given that he pointed out how important the Christmas spirit is, it means he’ll have to endure everything Tohru’s mother throws at him without being able to retaliate in his usual manner.
  • Under the Mistletoe: Uncle temporarily gets the upper hand over Daolon Wong by distracting by pointing out they are standing under a Mistletoe. Played straight in the end between Jackie and Viper. Unfortunately, Jade trips on something (Santa's gift to her) before capturing the moment.
