Recap / Fuller House S 3 E 1 Best Summer Ever

Go To

  • All Just a Dream: The musical opening.
  • Brief Accent Imitation: After Fernando announces he bought the Gibbler house, Kimmy slips into an accent at the word "Gibbler." Jimmy does the same thing as well.
  • Cannot Keep a Secret: Jimmy blurts out about Fernando "cheating" on Kimmy before letting Stephanie deal with it.
  • Ear Worm: Max has this with his Best Summer Ever song.
  • Exact Words: When Fernando reveals he bought the old Gibbler house next door to live in with Kimmy and Ramona, both decline. Fernando then declares that he’s “not leaving without a Gibbler in his arms.” Immediately Jimmy, who’s been having trouble finding a place for his RV, thus a place to live, jumps into Fernando’s arms.
  • Face Doodling: Because Jackson fell asleep in class, Rocki made him look like a cat with some sharpie. Rocki also mentions she drew a tulip on his back as well because his crack was showing.
  • Food as Bribe: To soften the blow about telling Jackson he's going to summer school, DJ packs in a steak sandwich, a whole pumpkin pie, and an iTunes gift card. After her shift at work, DJ picks up a pizza for him as well as an ice cream cake.
  • Food Slap: When Fernando walks in with Debbie, Kimmy throws lemonade in Fernando's face as well as her face. When the woman says she's a realtor and that the only thing going on between them is an escrow, Fernando and Kimmy give Stephanie death glares. Stephanie then throws a glass of lemonade in her own face.
  • Ignoring by Singing: Stephanie thinks Jimmy should tell Kimmy Fernando is cheating on her and he says he avoids confrontation. When she brings it up again, he closes his ears and goes "la la la."
  • Lady in Red: DJ reveals a sexy red dress under her jacket while at work with Matt, trying to have a date with him there.
  • Lampshaded Double Entendre: DJ tells Stephanie and Kimmy that she had a dream of her and Matt folding laundry. Of course it's Exactly What It Says on the Tin.
  • Lampshade Hanging: Rocki questions the "It's always open" gag by wondering how they haven't been murdered by now.
  • Love Confession: Matt says "I love you" to DJ, this being the first time he's done so. DJ does the same thing to Matt as well.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: Stephanie and Jimmy assume Fernando is cheating on Kimmy with another woman with two grande lattes when they see them hugging at Costco.
  • Mood Killer: A client interrupts DJ and Matt as they're having hanky but no panky.
  • Musical Episode: It starts off like one, but it turns out to be All Just a Dream Max has.
  • Security Cling: When Fernando says he's not leaving the house without carrying a Gibbler, Jimmy jumps into his arms.
  • Seen It All: After clearing up the misunderstanding with Debbie, she says she's been shot four times, so lemonade thrown in her face is nothing.
  • The Talk: When DJ tries to talk to Jackson about summer school, he thinks it's this, telling her he knows where babies come from.
  • Undercover Cop Reveal: Rocki plays this up for laughs when she says she's an undercover narc at summer school.
  • Weddings in Japan: Steve and CJ announce they're going to have their wedding in Japan not only because it's where CJ's stepfather lives, but he's also paying for it.
