Bonnie plans to cheat on Joe while in France with Lois while Peter homeschools the kids after the schools in Quahog close after news hits of a virus scare.
Examples:
- Anal Probing: Discussed after Quagmire gets abducted by aliens, with the aliens telling him that the whole practise has "more or less been retired".
- Cool Teacher: Played for Laughs. When Peter starts teaching Meg and Chris, he tries to show them that he isn't a stuffy, traditional teacher by stripping naked and riding around the classroom on a scooter. This is brought up again when Chris returns to school and his teacher does the exact same thing as Peter did.
- Hidden Depths: Peter may fail to convey it, but he apparently at least knows of a wide variety of historical topics from European and American History.
- Mushroom Samba: Peter and the kids do peyote out in the desert.
- Overly Long Gag: In a Conway Twitty style cutaway, the entirety of the music video for Mick Jagger and David Bowie's cover of "Dancing in the Streets" is shown.Peter: That happened and we let it happen.
- Shout-Out: Peter getting Chris and Meg from school is similar to how Ferris and Cameron get Sloan from school in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
- Upon seeing Joe get out of his wheelchair for Bonnie (which was actually the cause of Quagmire, Francois says that he would do anything for love, but he won't do that, referencing the song with the same name by the singer Meat Loaf.
- Peter, Chris and Meg doing peyote out in the desert and Peter stating that they should go kill a bunch of people in the Hollywood Hills next, is a reference to Charles Manson and his followers.
