Recap / Code Lyoko S 1 E 25

Go To

At the start of this episode, Jérémie announces that he has completed his materialization program for Aelita. They want to try it out after class, but Jim catches them in the act, saying that they're gonna stay put until he tells them what their secret is. Principal Delmas shows up just in time and scolds him for being paranoid. (During this particular scene, Jim calls Team Lyoko "these little devils", indicating his overly strict attitude).

Later at the Factory, Jérémie virtualizes Odd, Yumi, and Ulrich. But when he puts in the CD it is only a music video for Odd's song, Break Break Break Dance. Then Jérémie must go back to his room to pick up the right CD.When he gets the real CD, Jim once again finds him (calling Jérémie a "miserable little brat"), still determined to discover their secret, chases him down the steps and orders him to stop. Jérémie tumbles on the stairs and sprain his ankle during the heated chase, causing some of the students who watched him fall to blame Jim for the accident, including Heidi Klinger. Jérémie is taken to the infirmary, and Jim is fired by Principal Delmas for allowing his paranoid actions to cause harm to a student.

Jim feels guilty for what he has done, however, and decides to go into the infirmary to talk to Jeremie. Jeremie, who is now stuck in the infirmary with no way to reach the others still in Lyoko, decides to tell Jim the truth; that his suspicions were right all along. He offers to tell Principal Delmas the whole thing, about Lyoko and the Factory, so that Jim can get his job back - on the condition that Jim carries him to the factory.

Jim agrees and takes Jérémie there. Jérémie loads the materialization program, and Aelita enters a tower to be materialized. A megatank shows up and starts shooting the tower, but Aelita finally materializes in the real world. The last words of the episode come from Jérémie as he says to Aelita, "Welcome to Earth!"

This episode contains examples of:

  • Big Eater: Mr. Ishiyama packs away a bowl of noodles in seconds.
  • Call-Back: Yumi living with Aelita was discussed back in "Cruel Dilemma" as a possible solution if Aelita ever materialized.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: Well, Jim was correct about Jeremie and the others being up to something all this time. Mainly in this episode where he turns into a Super-Persistent Predator, but gets told off by the principal for unnecessary snooping and for chasing after something that isn't real.
  • Continuity Nod: The flashback with Jérémie and Aelita touching from "Frontier" is in Jérémie's dream.
  • Fetal Position Rebirth: Aelita comes into the real world in this position, though fully clothed, and laying sideways.
  • Foreshadowing: Aelita arrives to Earth with clothing which Jeremie didn't program on her, which hints as her not being an A.I.
  • Human Traffic Jam: Jeremie, Yumi, Ulrich, and Odd become the victims of one. Jim gets in Jérémie's way. He stops, causing Yumi to crash into him, then Ulrich into Yumi, and lastly Odd into Ulrich. Instead of walking, they are running when it happens.
  • I Knew There Was Something About You: Jim is proven correct about the gang having a secret, and constantly says "I was right!" every few minutes, at least four times in the episode.
  • Internal Reveal: Jérémie reveals all about Lyoko to Jim, in exchange for getting his job back for being too nosy on the crew, while also helping Jérémie get to the factory.
  • Inspector Javert: Jim literally chases Jérémie down the dorm halls, trying to get him to tell him what he and his friends have been doing. Unfortunately, his pursuit results in Jérémie hurting his ankle.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Jim is very upset with himself when Jérémie falls down the stairs and sprains his ankle while running away from him.
  • Secret-Keeper: Jérémie comes clean to Jim about the gang's secret, in exchange for getting Jim's job back, as well as helping up Jérémie to the lab so he can materialize Aelita to the real world.
  • Stock Footage: Thrice; Yumi talking on the phone without her pants had been used before in "Frontier" at the end when arguing with Ulrich. The scene with her and her parents talking about Aelita is the same as the discussion in "Rock Bottom" only with new dialogue. Also, a brief scene during Jim's chase of Jérémie was lifted from the previous episode, where Zombie Jim was chasing the latter (you'll notice his skin is paler in that particular shot).
  • Wham Episode: Aelita is finally materialized and Jim is made part of the group.
  • Wham Shot: Seeing Aelita in the flesh for the first time after almost a full season of Failure Is the Only Option.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Principal Delmas chews Jim out for his reckless and paranoid behavior, which had escalated to Jeremie getting hurt. Earlier, several students chew him out for injuring him.
