Pony in a Box Productions is a group of bronies who work on producing radio plays. It was created and is led by Squeak-Anonymous, who writes and directs most episodes.
The Pony in a Box plays are on a very professional level - they have been compared to Big Finish.
Their YouTube channel is here. For episode announcements, check out the News from the Box videos. Other information can be found on their wiki.
Ponies in the Box have created the following series:
- Doctor Whooves Adventures and spinoff, Filly of a Distant Star
- Daring Do Adventures
- Tales of a Junk Town Pony Peddler (based on Fallout: Equestria)
- The Adventures of Sherlock Hooves
- Stray Ami (an original series)
Some tropes universal in their plays:
- Cliffhanger: Squeak seems really fond of these.
- Fanfic: The first play of the group was My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Doctor Who fan play Doctor Whooves Adventures. They later diversified into Crossovers with Sherlock Holmes, Daring Do and Fallout: Equestria before starting their first original series, Stray Ami.
- Mysterious Employer: No one knows anything about Squeak, full name Squeak-Anon (short for Squeak-Anonymous), the head of the studio. They use a voice changer in interviews, to the point where not even the VA's really know their gender, race, age or exact location.
- Musical Episode: Several in Doctor Whooves Adventures. Every episode of Tales of a Junk Town Pony Peddler is built around a song.
- The 'Verse: The Boxiverse, in which all the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan plays but Tales of a Junk Town Pony Peddler take place.
