Basic Trope: When someone does something stupid for whatever reason, it leads to their death/defeat, a fallible mistake, a serious injury, or a bunch of 'em inflicted onto themselves.
- Straight: Alice kicked a crocodile. The crocodile bit Alice's head off as a result.
- Exaggerated:
- Alice kicked a Tyrannosaurus rex juvenile while its parents were nearby. The results were... well, messy.
- Alice kicked the President of the Troperian United States, and was shot dead by the Secret Service.
- Alice repeatedly taunts Emperor Evulz. The last thing she sees before death is a colossal fireball heading towards her.
- Alice releases a Eldritch Abomination upon the world, thinking nothing bad will happen.
- Downplayed:
- Alice kicked a large dog. She sustained many serious injuries and ended up in a hospital.
- The Ditz
- Justified:
- Alice believes crocodiles to be very slow, as seen in many media. Or is intoxicated. Or is too assured of herself to recognize that she may die.
- Alice saw people holding fire, kissing snakes, getting eaten by bread, etc., in her past life. She can no longer tell what is safe or what is dangerous.
- Alice has an IQ of -300.
- Alice is also Chaotic Stupid by impulse.
- Alice is of a species that is larger than your average crocodile.
- Alice is a Robot Girl programmed to accept every command, including the dangerous ones.
- Alice has Resurrective Immortality. What use does she have for survival instinct if she'll just come back anyway?
- Alice is drunk and/or high.
- Alice suffered brain damage before the incident.
- Alice is the only character unaware that she’s in a Death World.
- Alice is a Death Seeker Obfuscating Stupidity.
- Alice is Properly Paranoid, too bad she doesn't have a way out.
- Inverted:
- Too smart to die.
- Too dumb to die. (Yes, it does happen.)
- Too smart to live. (See also Death by Pragmatism.)
- Alice stayed away from the crocodile. It ran up to Alice and ate her anyway.
- The crocodile kicked Alice. Alice bit the crocodile's head off as a result.
- Subverted:
- Alice kicked the crocodile while it was still sleeping. It did not move.
- It was a Thanatos Gambit.
- Double Subverted: However, as it slowly wakes up, Alice just stood by, watching it. The crocodile ate Alice.
- Parodied:
- Alice is an immortal. She kicks the crocodile everyday and the crocodile always eats her. She is then reincarnated afterwards.
- Alice sees a pit filled with spikes, fire, sawblades, and angry kittens that has a large neon sign reading "INSTANT DEATH" hanging above it. She turns toward the screen, says "What's the worst that could happen?", and jumps in.
- Zig Zagged: Alice kicks a crocodile, and it tries to kill her, but is too slow. Later on, though, she crosses paths with the crocodile again, and it eats her. Another character says that the crocodile must have recognized her from before and was carrying a grudge, though it's pointed out that the crocodile is not likely to remember Alice fully.

- Alice needs to be removed from the show quickly, and Put on a Bus is not an option.

- Invoked: Cassie dares Alice to kick the crocodile. Doing so makes Alice crocodile food.
- Exploited: Cassie does so to have Bob to herself.
- Defied: Cassie stopped Alice from kicking the crocodile and explained to Alice clearly why it is not a good idea.
- Discussed: "The way Alice behaves around dangerous animals, she won't live very long."
- Conversed: "Alice kicked a crocodile in last week's episode. No prizes awarded for guessing what happens next."
- Played for Laughs: A Black Comedy about fatally stupid mistakes.
- Played for Drama: Alice knows that everyone needs her to stay alive, so she does stupid things so people get hurt or killed bailing her out.
- Implied:
- A crocodile warning sign is damaged and covered in blood.
- Alice's (unseen) escapades got her spots on Darwin Awards as an At Risk Survivor with the implication that it's only a matter of time.
- Deconstructed: After Alice is eaten, her death makes the headlines. Her family starts getting harassed by people who come to mock her. The funeral gets raided by people with crocodile shirts throwing bags of crocodile feces labeled "Alice".
- Reconstructed: The father pulls out a shotgun and a man throws a bag at him. No prizes awarded for guessing how this one ended either.
