Basic Trope: Two or more people are aware of the Masquerade, but they don't know that the others are.
- Straight: Alice is an angel with retractable wings, and Bob is a Gentleman Wizard with an plain-looking Magic Staff. Both of them look like everyone else in public and to each other.
- Exaggerated: Everyone has Arbitrary Skepticism and a Weirdness Censor. Alice and Bob could be casting magic in front of everyone else and each other, yet nobody would be wiser.
- Downplayed: Alice and Bob are suspicious of each others' magical abilities, but the Muggles still have no clue.
- Justified: Alice and Bob are from completely separate Magical Lands both with their own Alien Non-Interference Clause.
- Inverted: The Muggles know who Alice and Bob truly are and Lock Them out of the Loop.
- Subverted: Alice or Bob unknowingly exposes him/her self to the other. Secret Secret-Keeper ensues.
- Double Subverted: The Reveal actually turns out to be a costume and props. The Secret Secret-Keeper is disappointed.
- Parodied: Everyone is secretly holding up their own part of the Masquerade. There are no Muggles anywhere, but everyone acts as if that is the case anyway.
- Zig Zagged: Said costume is actually an Amplifier Artifact that works only for its respective species of magical being.
- Averted: Alice, Bob, and all other magical beings have True Sight and/or Supernatural Sensitivity to magic. They would immediately tell themselves from Muggles with only a glance.
- Enforced: ???
- Lampshaded:
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: ???
- Defied: Alice and Bob privately confess their magical natures to each other.
- Discussed: ???
- Conversed: ???
