Basic Trope: The allies take a moment to bicker amongst themselves, while paying the enemy no heed.
- Straight: Alice and Bob are fighting Emperor Evulz, but suddenly stop as one of the two says something wrong, starting an argument while forgetting about the enemy before them.
- Exaggerated: It escalates so much that they end up fighting against each other instead.
- Downplayed: Either Alice or Bob says something the other party doesn't agree with, causing a brief Dude, Not Funny! or What the Hell, Hero? moment, before they resume fighting Evulz again.
- Justified:
- We ARE Struggling Together
- Alice and Bob are Vitriolic Best Buds.
- Alice and Bob are part of an Enemy Mine, and even though they're fighting a same threat, they're still enemies.
- Inverted: Two mooks are fighting Bob and Alice, but then take a moment to bicker amongst themselves.
- Subverted: Bob (or Alice) says something that makes the other ally briefly shocked, but the shock comes from the motivation they then draw from it.
- Double Subverted: ...Until they think again about the thing they've said, starting to pick up a fight with their ally about it.
- Parodied: Emperor Evulz looks at his watch, peacefully counting down the seconds left before Bob and Alice get into a fight.
- Zig Zagged: Alice and Bob briefly bicker amongst themselves, but quickly calm down and resume fighting Emperor Evulz. Evulz proceeds to remind them about what one or the other has said, reigniting the bickering, but they quickly get over it, mutually agreeing that it's the villain's strategy... But then Alice says Bob is making things up, and the argument starts again...
- Averted: Alice and Bob never bicker during a battle.
- Enforced: ???
- Lampshaded: "Maybe if we stopped arguing so much during fights, they'd actually be easier..."
- Invoked: ???
- Exploited: Evulz takes advantage of the obvious discord between both fighters to deal a critical blow to one or both of them.
- Defied: "We'll argue later! We have an enemy to defeat!"
- Discussed: "Look, all our arguing made our opponent laugh!"
- Conversed: "Do you think there will ever be a fight without both of the main protagonists bickering?" "Doubtful."
- Deconstructed: Continued from Exploited; The critical blow that Evulz is able to deal because of how distracted the allies are causes either Alice and Bob to nearly keel over, putting the allies in a tight spot.
- Reconstructed: The critical condition their ally is in alongside the rage they've built up from the arguing makes either Alice or Bob so furious that they end up brutally defeating Evulz in a Curb-Stomp Battle in their advantage.
- Played For Laughs: Emperor Evulz ends up calling out Alice and Bob for their squabbling when he's the one they're actually supposed to fight.
