Basic Trope: Bad guy steals someone else's lunch right in front of him.
- Straight: Bob is eating a sandwich. Emperor Evulz takes it out of his hands and finishes it.
- Exaggerated: Bob is enjoying a three-course meal. Evulz sits down, tells Bob to move away and slowly eats it all up.
- Downplayed:
- Bob is eating cookies. Evulz casually takes a cookie from his package without asking.
- Evulz forcefully invites himself over for dinner with Bob but does not eat directly of his plate.
- Justified:
- Evulz wants to show that he is unambiguously in control, and he's hungry.
- Bob's food is a Power-Up Food, and Evulz intends to get the same buff as Bob by eating it.
- Inverted:
- No, Mr. Bond, I Expect You to Dine: the villain gives the hero lunch, whether because they're Affably Evil or as a demonstration of wealth and power.
- Evulz lets Bob finish his meal before killing him.
- Evulz is about to eat his sandwich only but then Bob takes his sandwich and eats all of it.
- Subverted:
- Bob is about to eat a sandwich. Evulz talks about how delicious it looks and it looks like he's about to take it for himself, but he doesn't and advises Bob to finish it quickly.
- Bob is about to eat a sandwich. Evulz talks about how delicious it looks and goes to take the sandwich for himself, but Bob shoots Evulz with a gun he had hidden before Evulz can take a bite.
- Double Subverted: Bob is about to eat a sandwich. Evulz talks about how delicious it looks and he's about to take it for himself, but he doesn't and advises Bob to finish it quickly. Bob takes one bite and then Evulz steals it from his hands and eats it all up.
- Parodied:
- Evulz takes a bite of Bob's sandwich, only to spit it out in disgust, telling him he knows he hates Pickles and then says that Bob is mean for putting pickles in the sandwich.
- Evulz takes a bite of Bob's sandwich, but rather than be intimidated Bob is only amused by Evulz stealing his food and it only serves to make Evulz look petty and childish rather than intimidating.
- Bob put Blazing Inferno Hellfire Sauce on his sandwich. Evulz isn't able to handle the heat and just ends up embarrassing himself.
- Evulz eats what he thinks is Bob's food, but it turns out to be Big Bad Bill's instead. Big Bad Bill, who is huffing and puffing like a bull who just saw Evulz is wearing red clothes. Evulz has about two seconds to gulp down the food he was chewing (and some saliva) before Big Bad Bill flings him around like a ragdoll.
- Zig Zagged: Evulz comes to Bob's table and asks in a very intimidating tone if he can share Bob's fries. Bob answers that he would prefer not to, so Evulz just nods and sits to the next table. Bob decides to offer him some of his fries, but Evulz thanks him and denies the offer. Moments later, Evulz just grabs a handful and slowly starts eating them. "Thank you for sharing," he says to Bob, "you are such a great host and such a good friend!" Bob just stares at Evulz in disbelief and says that he was happy to help him out. Evulz smiles, takes Bob's bottle of soda and takes a deep swig.
- Averted: Evulz leaves Bob's food alone.
- Enforced:
- A good way to show that Evulz is mean and fearless, and has no respect for anyone but himself.
- Evulz's actor decided to help himself to the food that was meant as a prop, and the director decides to use that take.
- Lampshaded: "Hey, that was mine!"
- Invoked: Bob leaves his meal unfinished, expecting Evulz to finish what's left.
- Exploited: Bob expects Evulz to steal food from him, so he poisons his food. Or spices his food with literal crap.
- Defied: Bob finishes his sandwich before he and Evulz are in the same room.
- Evulz suspiciously eyes Bob eating cookies. As soon as Evulz reaches for one, Bob snatches it up and scarfs it, looking Evulz dead in the eye the whole time.
- Bob isn't afraid of Evulz; as soon as Evulz reaches for Bob's sandwich, Bob attacks him.
- Discussed: "Can you believe it? Bob told me that Evulz took his sandwich again from his very hands!"
- Conversed: "Haha, Evulz has some balls on him. I love when the bad guy steals food from the good guy."
- Implied: Bob carries a sandwich to a meeting with Evulz. He leaves without it, and later complains about being hungry.
- Deconstructed: Bob is a Big Eater and messing with his food is a major Berserk Button. When Evulz does it, Bob unhesitatingly beats the shit out of him.
- Reconstructed: By provoking Bob into a rage while he's hungry, Evulz has weakened Bob enough to hold his ground.
