Hercules, without Mad Enhancement
Hercules, with Mad Enhancement
  • Theme Song: "Main Theme" (The Legendary Journeys), "Zero to Hero".
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: The Nemean Lion Skin
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good, Chaotic Evil when his Superpowered Evil Side is activated
  • Portfolio: Super Strength, Greek Mythology, Boisterous Bruiser, Being Big, Amazon Magnet
  • Domains: Strength, Battle, Myth
  • Allies: Diana of Themiscyra/Wonder Woman, Billy Batson/Shazam (as long as he doesn't turn into his villainous DC Universe self), Thor, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Guan Yu, Zeus, Aphrodite, Illyasviel von Einzbern, Sven, Amadeus Cho, Perseus, Chiron, Artemis, Vulcan, Athena, Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman, Many members of The Avengers, Cassandra, Greed the Avaricious
  • Rival: Achilles
  • Friendly Rivalry: Sir Lancelot and Arcueid Brunestud
  • Special Relationship: Nemesis, Kratos
  • Enemies: and certain incarnations of Hades, Ares, Gilgamesh, Shiro Tagachi, Darkseid, Thanos, Amatsu-Mikaboshi
  • Former Enemy: Hera
  • The result of a union between Zeus and a mortal woman named Alcmeme, Hercules in his own right was one of the most badass Greco-Roman deities of all time. With a history filled to the brim by tales of strength, battle, and courage, Hercules has partaken in countless fights and quests and found himself in various incarnations across many different universes.
  • Hercules' official rank has always been a debated issue in the pantheon. Some wanted him to be label as a Demigod since that's what he is in literal terms. Others argue that a demigod in the Trope Pantheon has a different meaning compared to the mortal realm. After a lengthy discussion, it was decided to rank Hercules as an Intermediate God.
  • While most of his feats have involved some amount of either heroism of pure badassery, there have been times where the Olympic gods have manipulated his rage. Not the least among them, his father's jealous wife Hera has attempted to have him killed on numerous occasions as well as slowly cursed him with madness throughout his life. When the madness bursts, it tends to have disastrous effects, such as the time he killed his wife Megara along with their children. He still hasn't fully gotten over this.
  • Is always assisted with a triumvirate of assistants/prophets consisting of Iolaus, Amadeus Cho and Illyasviel von Einzbern, but now just duo after Illya's ascension. For her part, Illya often takes advantage of her ability to summon Hercules and have him act as her Berserker-on-command when she has a battle to take on, reversing the dynamic. He has the power to nullify her Mad Enhancements in his ascended state within the Pantheon, but he likes and trusts her well enough and she lets him cut loose in battle so he allows her to use him anyway.
    • That said, there's still an effort to keep his madness state in check. He may become even more powerful, but he dreads being rained with the jobber aura that comes with it.
  • Princess Diana/Wonder Woman was at first wary of his presence due to his actions in the DC Universe, where he was strangely power-hungry and scheming to take over the place. Said actions include raping Queen Hippolyta, enslaving the Amazons, and attempting to manipulate Wonder Woman in order to take her powers on multiple occasions. Though he has had his moments where he resisted the madness even there and contritely accepted punishments for his actions, it took a reset of that universe before he could once again truly be his usual heroic self there. Even within the Pantheon it took her awhile to get used to seeing him as the boisterous yet ultimately well-meaning guy he usually is.
  • At one point, Hercules was somehow transformed into a 12-foot-tall, 400-pound monstrosity almost reminiscent of the Hulk except without the gamma-colored green skin. During this time, Kratos was running around killing the gods either for each other's vendettas or for his own, and had come across and opened Pandora's Box in the process, which caused Hercules to be infected with the sin of Envy. Hera manipulated this envy and had Hercules direct it at Kratos for daring to surpass him in Olympic fame and favor so that Hercules would stop Kratos. The ensuing fight led to Herc's face being caved in with his own Nemean Cestus and this monstrous form being completely dead. Since returning to normal he has been careful to anger his brother again, putting the Ghost of Sparta on the very short list of people Herc is actually afraid to fight.
    • Despite his resolution, it was Hercules that was actually angry with Kratos due to the envy infection and Hera's manipulation. Far from upset with Hercules, Kratos was angry at the gods who sent Hercules in his path and gave Herc numerous chances to stand down. Aside from this incident, the two half-brothers have always held a mutual respect for each other due to their similar misfortunes in life and tenuous relationship to the Olympic Gods — making his "reasons" for envying and hating Kratos at that time utterly nonsensical.
  • His latest achievement is to give a God of Thunder a divine nurple. This gave him a bit of a nasty rumor about him doing it to Fate Testarossa, but Herc has denied it vehemently. "I don't do that to girls!"
  • Thinks that this article about him is a cool story, bro!
  • If anything, don't call him Jerkules. It also becomes a catalyst for his Super-Powered Evil Side. Prepare for a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown.
  • He has been seen in the company of The Irate Gamer. The two play video games together, which Hercules tends to win. He doesn't stay for long however, because being in the Irate Gamer's company for an extended period of time saps his powers. Herc suspects that the Irate Gamer is trying to cheat so that he can win their games for once.
  • He has recently made a bit of a friendship with Guan Yu when they fought alongside or against each other in a certain arena. Herc commends Guan Yu's strength, but thinks the latter should loosen up a bit, like him. Much to Herc's surprise, it's Guan Yu's rigid view of war and calling out that his 'fun' attitude sound like insulting the his deceased family, who he'd killed in a fit of Hera-induced madness. "Didn't you wish to atone for your heavy sin? Were your labors just another happy adventures, or your form of atonement?" Herc wisened up on that and has learned to use a more subdued persona. He's still damn looking forward for heads to bash though.
    • Though after Hercules proved himself, Guan Yu is okay with him channeling his happy boisterousness again, due to the influence of one of Herc's greatest mortal avatars, Kevin Sorbo.
  • His portfolio has a Distaff Counterpart, which is managed by Aphrodite. After fighting side-by-side in the Battlefield of the Gods, Herc trusts her enough, and usually lets her slip off and call him 'Heracles' and think of him as a Roman dude instead of Greek.
  • Has an infamous way to express his disappointment, probably thanks to ProtonJon.
  • With Ares' ascension to the pantheon, the two often engage in battle. Herc always wins his fights against his brother, though both are left severely bruised after the encounter.
  • Hercules occasionally could be seen within the Forests of Caldavar, standing in for the hero called Hammerstorm. Interested in his style, Herc asked where did he learn from, in which he answered: Sven the Rogue Knight. With much interest, Hercules gets pumped up to challenge Sven and test his mettle. After one mighty and legendary duel, both stood their ground and with much good impression, Hercules offered Sven a new domain he could get used to and neighboring with him: Super Strength. To honor the great battle between men and because he feels it's right, Sven accepted and ever since, Herc has got himself one nice neighbor.
  • When Illyasviel caught an instance of his uneasy relationship with Diana and asked him about it, he confessed to Illya his villainous acts in Diana's world which had caused her to hate him. Though he expected Illya to at least be angry at him, much to his shock, the girl quickly deduced that Hera's curse on Hercules was responsible for much of what he did there and held none of it against him.
    • Curious as to why the curse would have such a sinister subconscious effect on him in the DC Universe, the two set out to investigate, brushing up in the house of Knowledge as well as testing and observing his powers. So far they managed to figure out that fighting under Mad Enhancement helps him work Hera's madness out of his system.
    • Because Hera is so close to the Themiscyran Amazons and doesn't trust him around them, he and Illya have decided to keep the object of these exploits a secret from both Hera and Wonder Woman until they fully figure out what's going on, lest they risk driving an unnecessary wedge or drawing the ire of both women.
  • Whenever he's met Greed the Avaricious it's been in one of two situations; alongside Illya as Berserker, and alone as his normal self at Greed's bar Stray Dog. This puts him in the unique situation of knowing things about Greed's friendship and conversations with Illya while Greed has no clue he's been standing there all along. He's decided to have a little fun with this, standing around mute as usual while they're talking but listening somewhat attentively and picking up on details so he can pitch in his thoughts later through coded "bro-tips" to Greed at Stray Dog. So far neither one has picked up on this, but Illya does seem to get nicer when she meets with him after her next chat with Greed.

  • Initially refused the position for Godhood. However, with many villains becoming deities, Goku reluctantly accepted.
  • Every new Super Saiyan level increases Goku's Divine Rank by the Super Saiyan level.
  • Has fought Superman many, many times with no certain conclusion, except for that one time when they were nowhere near a yellow sun.
    • The two had an ultimate clash that ended with Goku accidentally hurling Superman into the sun, supercharging him, and then being obliterated... along with the Earth, resulting in a very large mess that took every house of the Pantheon to clean up. However, this had become a moot point with Goku's most recent achievement of ascending into Super Saiyan God. The Patheon now fears a rematch, and Superman finally agreed to it. Thankfully, Superman simply decided to simply end the fight quickly and cleanly before the Pantheon could be destroyed again by frying Goku's brain, then carrying his body back to the House of Life and Death for revival. While Goku sees Superman as his ultimate challenge, he has decided to stop attempting to fight him for two reasons. 1. In order to defeat Superman you must have no limits, as he is able to lift eternity and infinity and hear the distress watch's signal in the vacuum of space thousands of light years away and arrive in ten minutes. And 2. Even if he did defeat Superman, what would he have left to strive for?.
    • Goku has pointed out that in their original battle, he came out on top and with Goku losing the second epic battle, a third and final deciding clash between the two titans is destined to happen.
      • The two did have a rematch, but in the most unexpected way possible.
      • They were both scolded by his wife Chichi on their recklessness.
    • It should be noted that, while many fans consider it a vicious rivalry, the two are really good friends and help out with each other's foes. They can often be seen in the lunchroom, eating metric tons of the other culture's food.
  • He also has a friendly rivalry with Kuroko Shirai, and the duo regularly has competitions of whose Teleportation Skills are faster and superior to whom.
  • Crashed the Gourmet Race set on the arrival of King Dedede along with Luffy and Toriko. He could have easily won the Race if he chose to go Super Saiyan, but decided to limit himself to give others a chance. He ended up in first place with Pac-Man and Kirby, and earned himself a life-time membership at the Gourmet Racer Club table which suits him just fine.
  • There exist a few false idols who claim to be him. His many followers have made sure he is never made aware of this.
  • Is taking part in "The Pantheonic Rebellion": picking on those weaker than yourself is something Goku finds HIGHLY contemptible, and YHVH's act of targeting a depowered Madoka for assassination is very much that..
  • There is an ongoing rumor that he and Vegeta are both masters of the Fusion Dance. This rumor worries the evil deities more than they'd care to admit. It's possible that the resulting fusion would be more powerful than O-Haruhi-Sama.
  • Recently begun partaking in daily duels with his long-unused Staff against the immaculate swordsmanship of Yuuki Konno: Admiring the fact Yuki regards combat as a respectful conversation, not to mention taking admiration in the grace speed and power of her 11-Hit Ultimate Technique "Mother's Rosario" (which even Goku barely managed to block), the two cheerful warriors became fast friends at the end of their very first duel.
  • He's not a big fan of Johnny Cage for the same reason as Vegeta, as it gives him a painful reminder of the time he had his balls busted during that one fight with Android 13.
  • Sun Wukong himself is starting to show MASSIVE complaint about how Goku is making a name for himself....WITH HIS OWN NAME. It's no secret to some people that both Wukong and Goku's names are the exact same, only read in different readings. Due to the advantage of Japanese and Chinese sharing similar characters, this has been going on for a while.
    • Thus, it's a bit of a clear point made by the original Monkey King himself in that people have no idea how to pronounce Sun Wukong (Soon Woo-koh-ng), and can only unknowingly say it as "Son Gokuu" without even knowing it's the same name. Goku himself however, hasn't said anything to this, but at the same time is rather just as baffled as well, especially since he realizes that the Ox King he knows also has a ripped-off name as well in the same manner. Some say Goku's just thinking very deeply about what to say on the matter.
    • Despite this, when Wukong learned about the alternate "Grand Tour" timeline and its version of Goku achieving a certain transformation and calling it Super Saiyan 4, he went out of his way to teach this Goku how to obtain the form himself. Given that the unlocking processnote  as well as the final look of the form show far more of a cross between a Super Saiyan and a Great Ape than a pure Super Saiyan, one can't help but think Wukong simply wants the man taking his name to represent monkey power like he does—especially given how much stronger it is than the previous Super Saiyan states.
      • For what it's worth, Android 17 got his self-sustained Super upgrade via Aghanim's Scepter around the same time. This resulted in 17 challenging Goku to a fight—a friendly one, thankfully—and claiming to be the Ultimate Android, to which Goku responded by calling himself the Ultimate Saiyan. Wukong was pleased by this name, finding it more fitting than Super Saiyan 4 as well as more emphatic about its power. The fight itself was intense, and 17 used his new absorption trick to gain the power advantage, but Goku picked up on it before 17 could blow him out of the water, effectively turning it into a fistfight. It was called a draw when Chichi told them dinner was ready.
    • The above all took place before Beerus' visit to Earth in which Goku learned of and unlocked the Super Saiyan God state. As soon as that incident happened and Super Saiyan God was tested and found to be stronger than the Ultimate Saiyan/Super Saiyan 4, Wukong was once again annoyed with Goku. This has only continued since then with every advancement in Goku's God powers, including Super Saiyan Blue and the combination in Kaioken, as the utter eclipsing of the monkey form's power has naturally just further peeved the Monkey King.
  • Goku reported having had a very strange dream, where he was about to eat some food before Sonic swiped it from him, inciting a melee. It also involved Godzilla, Kirby, the Avengers, wrecking the Death Star, and ended with Saitama killing him in one punch before then being challenged by Superman.
    • Curiously, this dream didn't end shortly after his "death", and it led to a one-on-one with the Man Of Steel and the Caped Baldy duking it out. In the end, after Saitama survived Supes's Super Flare, Black Widow arrived to clear up the issue.
  • Despite him being an all-around nice guy who'd never kill an innocent or hurt a fly, DO NOT underestimate his zeal for a competitive battle. This man instinctively draws out fights to get the most challenge out of them to the point that his friends and even he himself note this as a valid criticism. He convinces his friends not to kill his enemies if they're stronger than him but still manageable because he wants to have a rematch with them and eventually beat them himself. He calls hits on himself using divine connections to draw a legendary assassin out to fight him at full power simply because he enjoys fighting said assassin that much. That is how legendary Son Goku's thirst for challenge in combat is.
  • Goku gets along very well with Naruto Uzumaki and Nanoha Takamachi, due to their shared traits of open-minded kindness, protectiveness of their allies and friends, desire for peace, habit of redeeming lost souls and making friends of former foes, and other similarities. This friendship extends to the three of them helping each other train, to the concern of many villainous gods; the thought of Goku with access to Nanoha's special brand of magic or the Rasengan is worrying, while the thought of Goku having Sage Mode (and worse, of him combining that with his Super Saiyan forms) is damn near terrifying.
  • When it turns out other fighters who he long surpassed in power, like Krillin, Android 17, and his own son Gohan, still have the ability to surprise him with their skills or even to bring their powers up close to his literal Physical God +1 levels, he is joyful and impressed. He's even willing to give the likes of FRIEZA seemingly-infinite chances because of his respect for the man's power. Sure, gathering a team for a multiverse team battle royal where only the winning universe escapes deletion might have something to do with it, but it was Goku's fault the Tournament of Power is even happening in the first place.
  • Speaking of which, a few of his fellow heroes are beginning to find him to be reckless, smug, and stupid because of his role in stirring Zen'o up into starting that tournament and his absolute lack of seriousness when dealing with Zen'o or the other true deities of his universe. For example, X and Zero think he might pass for a Maverick if he was a Reploid who didn't still care about his friends or his world. Aang, who once at least held great respect for Goku as Krillin's best friend and a fellow Friend to All Living Things, now sees Goku's casual attitude to the entire situation as well as to lying to his own friends with a false bribe to get them to join his team as being somewhat horrifying. AJ Styles has nothing in particular against Goku's attitude itself, but doesn't like that John Cena approves of how defiant he's being towards detractors of his unbecoming behavior as The Hero of his 'verse. Optimus is also curious and less than impressed with Goku's folly, so rather than support Universe 7, he's decided to root for Universe 3, whose God of Destruction is a machine with a Cybertron-esque home planet and whose warriors are technologically-modified cyborgs.

Unknown/Variable Rank

    The Neuroi
The Neuroi, Those With Destroyable Cores (Kaii, Rätsel)
http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/482e0e6dd2b6db4c539fc0b1b3aec63b.png
  • Variable rank, ranges from Demigods (Drones, Light, Medium), to Lesser Gods (Heavy, Witch-like), to Intermediate Gods (Large, Capital and Super-Heavy)
  • Symbol: A red, glowing polyhedron
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Destroyable Cores, Hexagonal Structure, Regeneration, Alien Invasion, Taking Over Majority of Europe, Massive Amount of Lasers, Miasma, Black, Red and Belligerent, So-and-So Mechanical Lifeforms, Based on Real Aircrafts, Loud Screeches, Disappearing into Nothingness
  • Domains: Aliens, Technology, Cores, Lasers
  • Followers: Big Cores
  • Allies: Brainiac (supposedly), Unicron
  • Enemies: The Strike Witches are in high priority. Really, everyone in the Pantheon
  • Where there are many species-wide deities, most of them more or less invaded the Pantheon. The Neuroi, however, were brought here as a single core to experiment on them. As with the previous times, it failed epically. The single Neuroi core managed to cut connections to House of Technology, and then rose to the skies, taking many vehicles with it. Creating the dark cloud-like Hive above House of Technology, it unleashed a dozen of new Neuroi models based on the vehicles it absorbed, causing everyone to evacuate, allowing the Nest to feast on the House itself.
    • The Neuroi Hive above House of Technology was "defeated" when the ascended Strike Witches, alongside others like the Vic Vipers came and started defeating the Neuroi horde. However, the Hive was only driven off the actual Pantheon arena, and once it came across a massive land of nothing, it unleashed an entire armada of Neuroi to shake off the pursuers and settled there.
  • Neuroi come in different shapes and forms, mainly aerial, each looking like a mechanical thing covered in hexagonal plating, with red plating being able to shoot lasers. They can generate destroyed parts, requiring some one to destroy their core if they have one to defeat them.
    • What might be the most sought-after form are the Witch-like Neuroi like the X-11 "Neuroi Girl", due of their appearance. However, their purpose is no other than a regular Neuroi, aside of maybe acting as a lure.
    • Some historical records seem to indicate that Neuroi existed way far back than they are known as now, as ancient monsters like dragons, the Hydra and even as Orochi.
  • Neuroi also has the ability to corrupt humans to their side, mainly to collect info from them and to make them lead their Witch-type Neuroi. Saving a corrupted human is rather easy, though: just tear off their clothes.
  • Since the Neuroi get their energy by feeding off the earth, they cannot move on water, making the Abyssal Fleet still the true threat of the sea. Though they are trying to work around that problem...
    • Speaking of which, both Akagi and Yamato fret the day Neuroi came into the Pantheon, due the fact that both of them were Neuroified.
  • The only one/thing they consider being ally is Brainiac. Though it is hard to tell if Brainiac has actual control over them for that to happen. He also finds it annoying how they might destroy valuable monuments and such on their wake.
  • Due of them being completely machine-like, they do not fit with other species-wide deities like Daleks, Tyranids and The Flood. Even the Goo are not save, as the Neuroi do not seem to like how they try to consume everything before they can.
  • Might have a closely related cousin of mechanical alien creatures called the Alone.
  • Its hard to say how they became the mooks of The Robotic Ravagers, considering that unlike the other members, Neuroi only destroy and kill to get rid of any and all potential threat. They already know what Ultron plans to do with them... and if he manages to hijack the current Hive, well, there is always a Super-Hive.
  • The current Neuroi Hive seem to have started some communication channels to mimic some other Neuroi Hives. It is mainly used to ensure the Hive's own survival and not much else. The Hive itself says it uses its forces to simply "get rid of any immediate obstacles" but threatens that if someone tries to attack the Hive full-force, it will make sure that they will take them down with them.
