* Toaster, Blanky, Lampy, Radio and Kirby are five sapient appliances who lived alone in a cottage in the middle of the country. Years before, they had a master, Rob, who made use of them, but they hadn't seen him for a long time and missed him dearly. The appliances decided to take matters into their own hands and go outside the cottage to find their beloved master. A lot of things happened and they came close to getting destroyed several times, whether by the natural elements or getting taken apart by a scrap collector, among other things. They reached the big city and the apartment where Rob lived, but the more advanced appliances living there mocked them and kicked them out. The five ended up at a junkyard, where they were almost crushed were it not for Toaster sacrificing himself by jumping into the crusher's gears. Fortunately, by this point Rob had been looking for the appliances as well, so he took them all home with him and repaired Toaster. Afterwards, Rob went off to college and took the five appliances with him.
** In college the appliances helped Rob retrieve his thesis after it was lost due a computer virus. They met a supercomputer called Wittgenstein living in the basement and, with the help of a rat named Ratso, fixed him by replacing a tube before he blew up, and he restored Rob's thesis. Later in Rob's life, he got married to his girlfriend Chris and the two had a baby called Robbie, whom the appliances referred to as the little master. Here's where it gets extra-weird: the appliances met an Hearing Aid that used to belong to Albert Einstein, whose house Rob's family was now living in. Hearing Aid accidentally sent Robbie to Mars through a space bubble, thus forcing the appliances to go on a space voyage to retrieve him. In Mars, they met a bunch of stranded appliances that wanted to blow up the Earth as revenge for being forgotten, but the sight of the innocent Robbie ultimately convinces them not to and to go back to Earth with the appliances instead. Then Toaster got to sacrifice himself again when they forgot to shut down the missile's countdown, but he was saved once more. Long story short, everybody got safely back in time for Christmas.
* The appliances discovered the Pantheon when the little master Robbie accidentally wandered into it, thus necessitating the five to go get him back once more. Even though they had gone as far as Mars, this new dimension managed to be a whole new level of adventure for them. Most interesting to them was the fact that they were sighted by humans several times, but nobody made a fuss about supposedly inanimate objects moving around. Fortunately, they found Robbie safe and sound and having fun playing with some toys, which were also animate like them. The toys, led by Woody and Buzz Lightyear, warmly greeted the appliances and everyone got along splendidly as the Pantheon was explained to the latter group. After getting Robbie back where he belongs before the masters found him missing, the appliances were summoned to the Main House, where they were offered godhood. The five were rather happy at the chance to stick around this world where they didn't have to hide, but they also had to make sure they wouldn't be separated from their favorite people. Once they were assured that would not be the case, they were formally ascended.
* Woody, Buzz and the toys they lead remain very close to the appliances since they understand better than anyone the need to hide their true living nature in a world where humans believe they are inanimate, the dangers they have to navigate when most of them are as small as they are, as well as sharing feelings of strong loyalty towards their owners and doing a lot to stay by their side and keep them happy. The appliances feel rather sorry that Woody was essentially left homeless after he was given away by Andy to a girl who ended up favoring the other toys to the point where she forgot about him; they realize just how lucky they are that Rob thought of them enough to bring them along as he moved into adulthood. The five find themselves hoping that Woody, and perhaps the other toys as well, eventually find their way back to Andy, who'll hopefully have his own kids for the toys to entertain (and potentially protect from any hazards as they do for Robbie).
** One of the more infamous villains the toys had to personally contend with was the stuffed bear Lotso, who tried to lock them up in a kindergarten class full of rowdy children who would play too roughly or otherwise misuse Woody and co.. Lotso's tyranny stemmed from being abandoned (albeit accidentally) and replaced by his owner, which left him bitter and hateful; he could serve as a reflection of what the appliances might have become if, for instance, they let themselves be overwhelmed by resentment at being forgotten after seeing all the cutting-edge objects populating Rob's parents' apartment. In fact, they knew an Air Conditioner who had a similar attitude as Lotso, but he couldn't do much about it or bully others since he was stuck to a wall; the appliances think they're lucky for that, else Air Conditioner might have stopped them from leaving so they all could stew in his negativity. At least, Air Conditioner did become happy after Rob visited the cottage, whereas Lotso refused to change, and that's reflected in how he enviously despises the appliances for having owners who care and came back for them. The five do understand how he feels and are sad that he got abandoned by his beloved owner, but aren't about to let him push them around or bad-mouth their masters.
* The drive to brave the wilderness to go back home to the ones you love is a feeling that is also well-understood by Shadow, Chance and Sassy; much like the appliances, the trio of pets could not understand why it was that their beloved owners left them behind, but their confusion didn't stop them from going out and doing something about it. Shadow and Toaster have a mature friendship as the leader figures with a tendency to sacrifice themselves, meanwhile Blanky sometimes complains that Chance and Sassy get a bit rough with him, though fortunately Kirby has a way of scaring them off before things get too much for the poor, sensitive blanket. Chance and Sassy have also been seen being mutually snarky with Radio. But despite that occasional rowdiness between the two groups, the respect between them for their adventures and loyalty to their owners is definitely strong.
* Robert the Tire is an abomination to the appliances, since they can't, nor really want to, understand its reasons for being as murderous and sadistic as it is for an inanimate object (doesn't help that unlike them, Robert's not talkative). Even worse, Robert seems to have set its sights on tormenting them as well. One time, the appliances were chased all the way down to Courage the Cowardly Dog's farm by the tire, and though initially freaking out and assuming they were all monsters trying to hurt his family, Toaster explained that was not the case and they were being chased by the tire as well, so the appliances and Courage teamed up to thwart Robert. And this would not have happened without the help of Courage's very opinionated and perhaps rude but still helpful computer. After things settled down, everybody decided to have Courage's computer to link up with Wittgenstein so he could make a new friend of his own. Turns out that Courage's computer actually turns down the snarky attitude when speaking to Wittgenstein, likely having finally met someone worthy of respect.
* Roombo was initially just as unnerving to the appliances as Robert is, given how violent he can be. It soon turned out that the cleaning robot was quite the moral opposite to Robert however, being instead every bit as loyal to his human owners as the appliances are; Roombo's just a bit more graphic in expressing that loyalty. Besides that, he once tore apart Robert on another occasion of it stalking the appliances. However, though they like Roombo now, they'd still rather not look when he is doing his thing; Toaster in particular doesn't need more nightmares, thanks. Nor can the appliances imagine going as far as actually killing home intruders, as much as they love their family and want it to be safe. Though, perhaps they need to learn how to, after all, in case something drastic ever does happen.
* The appliances are used to dealing with straying babies thanks to all the time they spend as Robbie's unofficial babysitters, so when Baby Bink wandered all the way to their temple, they weren't too fazed and helped the tyke get back to his own temple where he belonged, after allowing Bink play a bit with Robbie, who also chanced to be visiting. They could also count on BMO to entertain them. Their feeling of responsibility over these kids leads to them feeling more wary of monster clowns like Pennywise and the Violator than they normally would be; the fact that there are actively malicious clowns roaming the Pantheon is particularly traumatic for Toaster, who had an infamously terrifying nightmare about an evil clown, but knowing some like Pennywise specifically choose to torture and kill children makes the appliances really afraid for the little master and Baby Bink's safety. Of course as the good and loyal appliances they are, they swallow their fear in order to properly protect them.
* The Enchantress holds some fascination for the appliances due to her famously turning human beings into animate inanimate objects like them. It kind of makes them wonder if she could perform the reverse and how cool it'd be if they could interact normally with their beloved humans. However, she remains at an enigmatic distance and they've never personally met her. The appliances are also fond of Belle and the Beast, as the couple is inclined to treat animate inanimate objects with kindness due to the Beast's human servants being turned into such objects for the duration of his curse, which was inflicted on him by the Enchantress. And yet, despite their ordeal, the servants remained positive and helpful, attitudes that make the appliances look up to them and hope to emulate them fot the benefit of their masters.
* One time Lotso, acting out of pettiness, captured the appliances and dropped them all off at a junkyard just for kicks. As they tried to find their way out, they met an evil car named Christine, though just at the moment they could not have figured out she was evil as she amiably proposed that they drive her so they could all get out of there together. The appliances did so and didn't notice that driving Christine was making them more AxCrazy by the minute, only snapping out of it when Christine found her owner Arnie, who heartlessly ditched the appliances. The five were very ashamed of themselves after the fact, not only for briefly becoming no better than the likes of Robert the Tire, but for helping such an evil object reunite with her owner. Fortunately they would discover not all sentient cars are malignant, as they would become acquainted with the benign Herbie and Lightning [=McQueen=]. While Herbie is in the same spot as the appliances as a loyal object that helps its owners, Lightning comes from a world where cars are the dominant species with no humans around, making the five wonder how things would be if they lived in a world built by and for appliances. There would be fewer junkyards, that's for sure.
* Toaster was intially over the moon to meet a fellow toaster in SCP-426, then confused that he always spoke in the first person whenever he was trying to refer to the SCP in its presence. This quickly turned into annoyance and frustration as all his fellow appliances were involved and nobody could understand each other as they were all nonsensically talking about themselves. Ultimately the appliances sans Toaster decided it was too much of a headache to deal with, but Toaster decided to have patience with the SCP and sometimes goes out on purpose to have conversations with it, reasoning it might be lonely due to its quirk. Besides, he'd made a resolve to be kinder before.
* While Roombo might make Kirby grumble occasionally for his violent tendencies and being a more advanced piece of technology than himself, he was not at all prepared for the existence of an organic, pink puffball-like creature with an almost blackhole-like capacity to suck things into himself. And to really blow the vacuum's mind, the puffball's name is Kirby too (by the way, if you're wondering why Kirby the vacuum is named differently from all the other appliances, "Kirby" is the name of a vacuum brand). In all honesty, Kirby the vacuum isn't too fond of Kirby the puffball, since he's left feeling rather inadequate in the presence of the puffball's mighty sucking power. The rest of the appliances, especially Blanky, like him for being cute and nice and playing with them and think ''their'' Kirby is just being a grump as usual.
* There has been an occasion or two where Blanky gets "kidnapped" by Linus Van Pelt due to his own SecurityBlanket going missing for some reason (likely some Pantheon jerk pulling a mean prank on him). The first time this happened, the rest of the appliances went gallantly to the recue of their younger member, only to stop in their tracks upon seeing it was just a needy kid sucking his thumb while cuddling Blanky, who himself felt rather sorry for Linus and wanted to support him in his time of need. The other four appliances thus went on to find Linus' much vaunted blanket. And so this exact same order of events has happened everytime Linus needs "Blanky time".
* Lampy couldn't quite figure out why a Pomeranian called Missile would show so much interest in him, that is until he found out something pretty crazy about the dog: in a BadFuture, he possessed a lamp and became a wise mentor figure to his owner Sissel as he adventured through the spirit world, hoping to set things right before they could go wrong for their group of friends. Seeing as how this makes Missile, who was previously dismissed as a dumb dog, practically a genius, it must sting all the more for Lampy that he is himself, very ironically, [[TheDitz not too bright]] (except when it comes to the topics of light and electricity). In any case, Missile proved himself to be not only a good dog, but a loyal inanimate object at the same time, which is something all the appliances must respect.

* If anyone's wondering how Cappy's Capture abilities exactly work, here's a quick rundown: all he needs to do in order to Capture someone is be placed on a target's head to posses them, often in the form of someone throwing him at said target. How well he can posses them depends on their height; if they're around Mario size or shorter he can stay on indefinitely, but if they're an especially big or powerful target they'll eventually tire him out and be uncaptured after a short amount of time. By Pantheon standards, pretty much anyone small enough can be captured by Cappy. While this unsettles a fair amount of deities through [[FridgeHorror Implications alone]], Cappy is wholly benevolent and has only used his abilities on either non-sentient creatures and objects, or deities that really have it coming, and on the rare occasion he's forced to posses sentient people he keeps it short.
* Cappy's powers came with both good news and bad news; the good news is that Cappy is far from the only one who can posses others, but the bad news is that most others are often evil folk who use it for their own selfish purposes. While this unsettles a fair amount of deities through [[FridgeHorror Implications alone]], Cappy is wholly benevolent and has only used his abilities on either non-sentient non-sapient creatures and objects, or deities that really have it coming, and on the rare occasion he's forced to posses sentient people he keeps it short.
* Cappy's powers came with both good news and bad news; the good news is that Cappy is far from the only one who can posses others, but the bad news is that most others are often evil folk who use it for their own selfish purposes. Take The Mage of the Beginning for instance, a nihilistic sorceress that wanted to end all human suffering... by destroying the world before the negatie negative emotions do. * Cappy came up to The Pantheon very shortly after the Odyssey, as a request from Mario himself for him to take LivingHat due to his appearance and abilities. After reuniting, the two celebrated by once again going off to save the princess, who was once again kidnapped by Bowser, also bringing his attention to the fact that the hat has returned to The Pantheon. Cappy has since had more adventures with Mario in The Pantheon, mostly whenever he charted off to unfamiliar lands and needed someone to help adapt, as Cappy proved to be immensely useful for that. He also made sure to read up on how The Pantheon worked and its notable locations, just like back in his home realm. On the subject of people with sentient headwear, he ended up under the radar of Dr. Fate, a ghostly man wearing a helmet housing the strict but benevolent being Nabu. Both of them were interested in his capturing abilities and requested that Cappy shows them some examples, something that the spirit was happy to demonstrate every now and again. That said, he doesn't trust the similarly possessive Terror Mask because of its highly manipulative and crass personality, but while the Mask finds his abilities hilarious he otherwise doesn't care much about how the hat feels.
* As mentioned before, Cappy comes from Bonneton, better known as the Cap Kingdom, a land filled with other hat-shaped spirits that can also shape-shift into other hats and travel around in airships. Despite the land's gloomy atmosphere it's a perfectly peaceful land with friendly locals. On the subject of his ghost-like appearance there's been some debate if he's a proper ghost or he just looks like one, but generally he tends to be lumped in with other spirits from Mario's world, and he doesn't mind too much as long as they're not too spooky. It did allow him to befriend other, more traditional ghosts, such as when he encountered the friendly spirit Casper, who was thrilled about meeting someone that didn't find him scary for once, which confused Cappy but he was otherwise happy to give the little guy some much needed company. He also befriended crime-fighting half-ghost Danny Phantom, first helping him thwart a gang of thieving ghosts that Cappy happened to stumble upon, and since then has occasionally helped Danny in stopping other ghosts using his capturing skills.

Since then he hasn't had a high opinion of thieving birds, an opinion only enforced by the Murkrow, and ascended gang of avian pokemon obsessed with stealing stuff. Cappy ended up on their radar once, and as soon as he was placed down one of the Murkrow swooped in and stole Cappy, forcing Mario to give chase and eventually rescue his friend from the thieves. This repeated a few more times, with Cappy growing more and more than happy to be friends with paranoid about encountering them again until they eventually lost interest and even help her out with fighting Ragyo. They did say that if Ragyo is without a hat found something else to try and knocked out, steal. Cappy can capture her and has remained wary of them returning ever since then
* One incident that happened while
Mario can take control of her. However, when capturing a new person, Mario ends up experiencing a brief history of what that person's life was, [[ParentalIncest and considering]] [[MoralEventHorizon Ragyo's rather]] [[AbusiveParents vile nature]], Mario and was on vacation was Cappy both hope that this option is joining Link on an adventure, appropriately to stop the insane mask Majora from destroying the Pantheon. While Majora was a last resort.
* One
more intense threat than Cappy was used to, he was still dedicated to helping Link stop him and once again proved invaluable to stopping him. This time it wasn't just because of his most famous [[{{Pun}} "CAPtures"]] during powers, but also that Cappy was very good at identifying the land and serving as a guide to Link, pointing him to where he needs to go and giving him tips, basically acting like his adventure was capturing usual companions who'd do a T-Rex for Mario to use. He had the chance to show off this ability in the Pantheon when he and Mario teamed up to trick Indominus Rex, who just escaped its temple, to knock itself out by ramming its head against a tree and capturing it to return Indominus Rex to its temple. Rexie, Barroth and Glavenus have been impressed by this feat, while Indominus Rex is preparing for a rematch. Deviljho and Sharptooth have their eyes out for Cappy, careful to not let their guard down in front of him or to be surprised by him.
* As an ExpositionFairy, he has gotten along
similar thing. The final battle with the helpers from Majora was tense, but with Link's quests that provided him information, namely Navi, skills and Cappy's abilities the two were able to banish its powers once again, with the two leaving on very good terms. That night, he was visited by the spirit of the Master Sword, Fi, and Midna. He did however confess that was asked how he didn't really have any magical powers that helped him out with knowing knew so much about the lands he and Mario traversed; Pantheon's landscape. Cappy sheepishly responded with a simple answer: he just read Mario some information off whatever guide he could get his hands on and observed his surroundings. The spirit was impressed nonetheless and thanked Cappy for helping her master before leaving.
* Cappy is very protective of his little sister Tiara, and will go to any lengths to save her. Considering the crux of his worldwide trip was to save her from the clutches of Bowser, who was planning to use her as
a travel pamphlet.
* Also has
crown for his and Peach's "wedding", it doesn't come as much surprise. As such, he's got a spot good opinion on those that would risk life and limb to protect their loved ones. Of these, he ended up befriending Princess Anna, who went on an entire quest to save both her sister and Arendelle from being frozen over by her powers and ended up succeeding in Pantheon/{{Hats}}doing so, albeit with plenty of road bumps, and admired Cappy's dedication to go on an even longer trip for the sake of his sister. He also visited Elsa on a trip and ended up befriending her as well, feeling bad for the circumstances of her abandoning Arendelle and why she needed to be saved in the first place.

* With his ascension, he has been mostly seen with Mario on his head. Mario certainly doesn't mind it and even welcomes it, as besides being a good friend and partner, Cappy's ascension also brought with him the Odyssey for Mario to use (and was modified by the house of Pantheon/{{Technology}} so that Mario doesn't need Cappy to use it anymore), making travelling around the Pantheon a breeze. It's also worth mentioning that [[GameBreaker Mario is able to jump around much more efficiently with Cappy by using him as a mid-air stepping stone to bounce off of]]. And this isn't even mentioning his ability to capture people...

* Being a computer, Courage's computer can sometimes be found in the House of Pantheon/{{Technology}}. Courage always makes sure to install anti-virus software against the living viruses in that house, as he was once infected by a computer virus. He can sometimes be found talking with Bender, though this "talk" is usually bickering. The computer doesn't mind too much as he considers [[SecondLawMyAss his flippancy towards the Second Law of Robotics]] and personality amusing. The computer is more of an actual friend to Marvin the Paranoid Android, however Marvin is far more sulky, sardonic and critical than him so they sometimes have trouble getting along.
