My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic has its share of Oh Horseapples moments.

Season 1

  • In "Boast Busters" Trixie claims she can defeat the dreaded Ursa Major. A bit later on, Snips and Snails lure an actual Ursa into town and inform Trixie of this so she can defeat it. The expression on Trixie's face says it all. This is exacerbated by the fact that what Trixie thought was an Ursa Major was in fact an Ursa Minor (a baby). The actual Ursa Major was about 10 times bigger.
  • In "Dragonshy", there are unsurprisingly a lot of these in the scene where Rainbow Dash Leeroy Jenkinses the giant dragon, including her own reaction after realizing that kicking it in the face just made it angry. Less easy to anticipate, the scene ends with the dragon pulling similar expressions after managing to anger the wrong pony. Specifically, Fluttershy.
  • In "Sonic Rainboom", Rarity gets the idea to show off by flying close to the sun to beam light through her temporary, delicate butterfly wings. After a few seconds, the heat seeps into them and they evaporate instantly. She has just enough time after that to look over to her back and give a faint "Uh-oh..." before gravity takes over.
  • In "A Bird in the Hoof", Twilight's expression when she sees Princess Celestia's royal guards at Fluttershy's doorstep after Fluttershy kind of birdnapped Celestia's pet bird Philomena is a perfect example of this.
  • In The Teaser of "The Cutie Mark Chronicles," the Cutie Mark Crusaders note that their zipline is about to bust. Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom know exactly what's coming next, but Scootaloo looks surprised. Down they go, over a tree.
  • In "Party of One", Rainbow Dash has one before Pinkie Pie sits on her.
  • In "The Best Night Ever", Twilight Sparkle makes the mistake of saying, "Well, it can't get any worse." Cue the ominous rumbling, the mad scrambling of everypony else in the room, and Fluttershy smashing the front door open. Homefilly. Is. PISSED.

Season 2

  • At the end of "The Return of Harmony, Part 1", Twilight, the only one of the Mane Six whom Discord hasn't corrupted, is utterly horrified that they lost his challenge because of Rainbow flying away and breaking the "no wings, no magic" rule (which he tempted her to do in the first place), thus letting Discord able to spread his chaos. Twilight also has a mild version of this when she sees her friends are not acting like themselves once she meets up with them.
  • In "The Return of Harmony Part 2", Discord barely has time to let out a Big "NO!" as he realizes he was dead wrong and the heroines have not only rekindled their friendship, but because of that he's about to get blasted head-on with the Elements Of Harmony — the one thing that can defeat him — and there's nothing he can do about it. Before then, Celestia summons the Mane Six to the castle and tells them that Discord has gotten loose, what Equestria was like under his rule and that the only thing that can defeat him are the Elements of Harmony. She then pulls out the box with the Elements in them... and opens it to discover Discord has already stolen them. The look on Celestia's face can only be described as this.
  • In "Lesson Zero":
    • Twilight has a huge sanity destroying conga of "Oh Crap" moments as her sources for friendship problems dry up more and more and she risks being "TARRRR-DYYYYYY" with her weekly letter to Princess Celestia.
    • Applejack can only say "Whoa, nelly" when Princess Celestia shows up, visibly pissed off.
  • In "The Cutie Pox", when Applejack sees her sister (known to have four left hooves) dancing flawlessly with three cutie marks, and Apple Bloom gasps out "Help me".
  • In "Luna Eclipsed", the children and Pinkie Pie keep screaming in terror and running away whenever Pinkie interprets Princess Luna (whose previous evil incarnation gave rise to the Halloween-like holiday they're celebrating) as doing something sinister, which is a lot.
  • The picture at the top is from "Baby Cakes", when Pinkie's babysitting duties start to go downhill.
  • Pinkie in "The Last Roundup" when she sees Applejack's empty room, realizing she broke her Pinkie Promise.
  • At the end of "A Canterlot Wedding, Part 2", Queen Chrysalis gets a perfect one when she looks behind her and sees a Heart Beat-Down heading her way.

Season 3

  • Near the end of "One Bad Apple", Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon each react with terror when Babs Seed threatens to tell their mothers about their bad attitudes.
  • In "Magical Mystery Cure", Twilight Sparkle's song about how everything is awesome and that nothing could possibly go wrong screeches to a halt when Rarity accidentally drops a rain-cloud on her head, and has Rainbow Dash's cutie-mark on her flank.
Twilight: Everything is not going to be fine!

Season 4

  • In "Princess Twilight Sparkle, Part 1", when Twilight flashbacks to Luna's rising as Nightmare Moon (initially thinking it was Luna turning into Nightmare Moon a second time), her wings, that were previously up, fold down. That might be an Alicorn sign of going "OH CRAP!" in her mind.
  • In "Power Ponies", Mane-iac gets one when Fluttershy hulks out.
  • In "Twilight Time", Apple Bloom's attempt to make an apple grow causes a huge explosion of applesauce within the house.
  • "Equestria Games":
    • Spike, at first, more than excited to light the torch for the games. But once he gets inside the stadium, he quickly realizes how big the audience is, leading to this reaction.
    • He gets it again when he's allowed to sing at the medal ceremony for the aerial relay, expecting to perform the Ponyville anthem. However, he finds out too late that only the anthem for the winning team — Cloudsdale — will be played, and of course he doesn't know that one.
  • "Twilight's Kingdom, Part 2":
    • Twilight when she flies right at the hoof of Tirek while trying to get away from him. Even moreso when she teleports back to the library, thinking she's a good distance away and watch Tirek through a telescope only for him to turn in her direction and send a fireball her way. And her library goes up in flames.
    • Tirek likewise has one when his powers prove ineffective against the Rainbow Power and realizes his victory is about to be short-lived, leading to his own Villainous Breakdown.

Season 5

  • In "The Cutie Map - Part 2", the entire village has this when they witness Starlight's real cutie mark.
  • In "Amending Fences", Twilight has this reaction when she realizes her blowing off Moondancer's party invitation caused her to become antisocial like how she was in the past.
  • In "The Cutie Re-Mark, Part 1", this is Spike's reaction and then Twilight's upon finding Starlight at the castle, right after they dismiss the idea she could be coming back for revenge.
  • "The Cutie Re-Mark, Part 2":
    • When Spike answers Nightmare Moon's question of who else would rule Equestria with "Umm... Celestia, of course!", Rainbow Dash and the other guards cringe. Though thankfully Nightmare Moon just laughs it off, after pointing out Celestia was banished to the moon in that timeline.
    • Starlight herself gets one of these when she finds out the Mane Six have decided what to do with her with a Loud Gulp to accompany it. She really is expecting the worst.
    • Twilight and Spike get an even bigger one when Starlight is destroying the scroll.

Season 6

  • In "Applejack's Day Off", Twilight offers to help Applejack by feeding the pigs. Applejack gave her a list of instructions. Twilight was convinced that it would be easy until Spike show her the long list of instructions.
  • "The Cart Before the Ponies" has two in rapid-fire succession. When a tire falls off the cart Rainbow Dash is driving, Scootaloo knows exactly what's coming. As that cart, along with Rarity's and Applejack's, cross the intersection around the exact same moment, the spectators' expressions turn to absolute horror. WHAMM!!!

Season 7

  • In "A Royal Problem", every status report Starlight gives Twilight elicits an even bigger Oh, Crap! from the latter than the previous one did, culminating in the report of Starlight's desperate measures (swapping the Princess' cutie marks), whereupon Twilight completely loses it.
  • Twilight in part 1 of "Shadow Play" when she realizes the spell to free Star Swirl and the Pillars from Limbo not only freed them, but also the Pony of Shadows.

The Movie

  • Pinkie's reaction when Twilight delivers her Wham Line.
  • Twilight following Tempest's Troubled Backstory Flashback at the climax of her Villain Song, followed by an even bigger one as she sees more of the Storm King's army attacking Equestria as she absorbs the song's message.
  • The Storm King during Tempest's Heroic Sacrifice.
  • A humorous one done by Skystar when Novo tells her she's grounded.

Season 8

  • Twilight in part 1 of "School Daze" when Neighsay shuts down the school.
  • Neighsay gets one himself in part 2 of "School Raze" when Cozy Glow turns everypony in the school against him, learns of her true intentions, and that she was the one stealing the magic from Equestria. Cozy Glow also gets one when she realizes that she accidentally admitted her actions in front of the Mane Six.

Season 9

  • All of the Mane Six in "The Beginning of the End - Part 1" when Sombra turns out to be Not Quite Dead and destroys the Tree of Harmony, along with the Elements.
  • The Mane Six minus Twilight, plus Spike and Discord, in "The Summer Sun Setback" when they realize all of the preparations for the last Summer Sun Celebration have been ruined. Twilight herself also has this when she sees the disasters herself, and punishes her friends for not telling her the truth.
  • "The Ending of the End – Part 2": Cozy Glow sums up the Terrible Trio's final situation succinctly:
    "This is bad, isn't it?"
