* The buildings you can unlock to bake more cookies for you start out fairly mundane and become weirder as it goes on. From cursors to grandmas, factories, portals to an alternate dimension, [[BreakingTheFourthWall the code the game was written in]]... What does this all culminate into? '''YOU'''. That's right. ''You yourself'' are the final building. More specifically, [[MesACrowd clones of you]]. ''Entombed into a wall like [[Franchise/{{Alien}} a Xenomorph hive]].''

* As you earn achievements, the pool of milk turns brown (chocolate), and then... red. It's supposed to be "raspberry milk," an AuthorAppeal substance that most players have never heard of. Instead, you're likely to think it's [[OverdrawnAtTheBloodBank a huge pool of blood]]. The fact that it originally turned red around the time you hit the Grandmapocalypse doesn't help. After several updates to the game, including more types of milk that unlock more frequently, you're likely to get Raspberry Milk far earlier than the Grandmapocalypse.
** A later update adds cherry milk, which is even more blood-like than raspberry milk. However, you probably won't see it until much later in the game.
** Blood-like milk was taken to its logical conclusion with the Fanciful Dairy Selection upgrade. While most of the milks are pretty, exotic patterns like starry midnight milk and various fiery milks, the sanguine milk stands out for being colored a blood red patterned with the [[SarcasmMode lovely image]] of red blood cells, which can also be interpreted as the ''screaming souls of the damned''. May be an AscendedMeme.
** Note that the milk wasn't labeled at first, so you just had the colour to go by. Pretty much everybody thought it was meant to be blood until the label was added to the stats screen.
* The Grandmapocalypse itself, featuring things such as giant EldritchAbomination Grandmas that threaten entire cities and secrete cookies and sugar, other otherworldly abominations wanting to try your cookies, and "highways of flesh".
** There's also fact that by the time you get there, you have turned every atom in the universe into cookies and have them rewrite the '''fundamental laws of the Universe''', making it look like nothing can stop you. [[EldritchAbomination No]][[TheOldGods pe.]]
*** Even after that, a later news ticker states that the entire observable universe is full of cookies with "no vacancies" left over. You're ''still'' baking cookies after this.
** Not to mention the grandma's [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou purchase icon]] [[NightmareFace shifting]] as the Grandmapocalypse advances. There's absolutely no previous warning of this, so it'll certainly catch you by surprise.
** When an Elder Pledge wears off, the sudden transition from their normal form to their final form qualifies as a bit of a JumpScare.

They're large, fleshy, leech-like parasites that start appearing when you trigger the Grandmapocalypse, and they suck your CPS if they get to your big cookie. Luckily, despite their appearance, they're nothing more than a nuisance. That, and they can actually ''help'' bake cookies through idling with them and ''then'' killing them.

** Because the news ticker doesn't change or acknowledge Final Claus's form, some believe he's [[CreepyGood just as benevolent]] [[GoodAllAlong as he's always been.]]
* The (unreleased) Dungeon Update: Revealing what kind of madness goes on inside of the factories. And that they send ''children'' there to get rid of "pests".
** It also brings along lovely messages such as "''Your cookies have developed sentience''"
* One of the Grimoire spells can create or destroy buildings. ''Grandmas and You count as buildings.''
--> "A new You bursts out of the ground."
--> "One of your Grandmas disappears in a puff of smoke."
** Similarly, growing Krumblor the cookie dragon requires you to [[HumanSacrifice sacrifice]] ''several hundreds'' of your Grandmas and Yous, heavily implying that [[FedToTheBeast you're feeding them to the ravenous dragon]].
* One ticker announcement related to Antimatter Condensers states that an entire town was destroyed in a black hole, only for more reliable sources to quickly state that the town "never really existed". This has two possible interpretations, and both of them are equally terrifying. Either the accident rewrote time to [[RetGone remove the entire town from existence]], or your cookie empire has grown so enormous that it can effortlessly censor ''the destruction of an entire town''.
** There are more hints at the evil ways of your business, with multiple variations of a similar news update having people who question the current cookie obsession (which at this point consists of using particle accelerators for the sole purpose of creating cookies) branded as "confused" or "delusional", while anyone who questions the current authority is branded a conspiracy theorist and mocked publicly on the news. Another example of people being branded as talking nonsense is how anyone coming out of a coma which began before the cookie authority showed up who talks about the non-cookie foods which were eaten long ago is branded as “babbling incoherently”. In addition, one Prism-related update casually refers to someone as a "cookie magnate/government official". Yes, at this point, your business ''controls the government''.
** Even worse, since the news messages loop after a while, you're going to get these messages repeatedly. Your business is using dangerously unstable particle accelerators that are repeatedly destroying ''entire towns'' to bake cookies, and effortlessly hiding the enormous bodycount that's rapidly piling up.
** And to top it all off, ''most universes in the Cookie Clicker multiverse suffer a similar fate.'' The Idleverse's second upgrade mentions that all universes ultimately converge towards the production of a sole type of item. Of course, your universe produces cookies. It gets even more nightmarish, since you ultimately rewire the logic of those universes to produce cookies. Effectively, they're now enduring ''the exact same fate.''
* Even before you rewrite the fundamental laws and cause the Grandmapocalypse, a news message states that cookies permeate the global economy so much, that "if we eat anything else, we're all dead". The point of no return came faster than many people realized.
* After ascension and being reincarnated, the world is back to normal, starting over with you baking cookies at home with nothing weird going on at all. But, using your new Heavenly Chip-granted powers, you can be right back to where you were in mere minutes, sometimes even ''seconds'' during the late game. This means that you can take the world from being a fairly average place into a cookie hellscape in only moments, with the news going from mundane reports to talk of cities blowing up in black holes, natural species being mutated into cookie-abominations, rivers being polluted with chocolate, and historical figures turning into talking lumps of dough.
** Combine that with the prestige upgrade that lets you keep an upgrade from your previous run, as well as the one that gives you a set of starter grandmas, and then set your kept upgrade to one of the "-illion fingers" upgrades[[note]]These give you a flat bonus to each cursor/click for every non-cursor building owned, and they get pretty ridiculous in the late game, up to 500,000 cookies each[[/note]], and you can do this ''before the reincarnation animation is even finished''.
* One of the seemingly innocent news ticker items is a PSA warning against counterfeit cookie asking "do your cookies contain [animals]?", with possible animals ranging from mole rats and frogs to polar bears, fruit bats, velvet worms, giraffes, and even [[ImAHumanitarian hippies]]... Then you realize the news ticker is implying that cookies that ''don't'' contain these animals are the counterfeit.
