A DancePunk/Art Punk/Everything band from New York, Yeah Yeah Yeahs formed back in 2000, and consists of singer Karen O, guitarist Nick Zinner, and drummer Brian Chase. While remaining fairly unknown for a long time, they have recently started gaining popularity (like other bands, having a song in VideoGame/RockBand tends to send a few sales your way).

The band itself has an odd PowerTrio setup, with each member's stage persona fitting a different stereotype. This has been commented on by the band themselves a few times. In particular Karen O is said to be much more subdued than her stage persona, to the surprise of many fans.

!!Associated Tropes:

* AlbumTitleDrop: Fever to Tell takes its title from a line in "Man."
* CarefulWithThatAxe: "Art Star" and "Mysteries."
* CostumeTropes: Karen O alone covers a fair few:
** ImpossiblyCoolClothes
** PimpedOutDress
** RummageSaleReject
* DancePunk: This is one of the myriad of genres to influence them.
* Flanderization: The three band members often get reduced to their respective personae. This also happens to Karen O's decidedly non-limited wardrobe.
* FunWithAcronyms: "Maps" supposedly stands for "My Angus Please Stay", Angus being Liars frontman Angus Andrew, Karen's boyfriend at the time.
* HurricaneOfEuphemisms: "Date With The Night" is all about specifically female masturbation.
* LighterAndSofter: "Little Shadow", "Subway", "Wedding Song".
* MetalScream: Ho ho, yeah. Karen could give Corey Taylor a run for his money.
* NewSoundAlbum: It's Blitz!, which saw them moving away from their punk origins to a more electronic sound.
* PerformanceVideo: Most of them.
* PowerTrio:
** TheChick[=/=]LovableSexManiac
** Nerd The Nerd
** Goth The Goth
* RefrainFromAssuming: Many people think their biggest hit, "Maps", is called "They Don't Love You Like I Love You".
* SpellMyNameWithAThe: oddly inverted- the band name has no "The" in it, but you will almost always hear it added. Maybe The Yeah Yeah Yeahs is just easier to say.
* SubduedSection: "Runaway," "Skeleton," and "Little Shadow," among several others.
* ThreeChordsAndTheTruth: The band is vocals, guitar and drums. As the band have grown and changed their style, they've eased up on this trope for a slightly more expansive production.
