The Saturdays (often referred to as just "The Sats") are a British girl group that came to prominence after opening for Girls Aloud's Tangled Up Tour in 2008. Despite the girl group scene in The UK being seemingly oversaturated enough with just two other acts ( Girls Aloud and Sugababes), The Saturdays managed to find a niche for themselves, and twelve of their fourteen released singles have gone Top 10 on the British Charts, with one reaching Number One. The Saturdays provide examples of:- Album Title Drop: On Your Radar is named for a line in "All Fired Up".
- Bad Girl Song: "Notorious".
- Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Mollie, Rochelle/Vanessa, Una.
- Frankie flip-flops between Blonde and Brunette.
- Breakup Song: Where do we begin... "Keep Her", "Chasing Lights", "Fall", "Lies", "Missing You", "Karma", "Forever is Over", "Ego", "Not Good Enough", just to name a few.
- Celebrity Endorsement: Do this quite a bit, their most notable one being for Veet hair removal.
- Colour Coded Characters: Often played with, as the artwork for the Chasing Lights era prominently featured the girls wearing a different color each, though no one colour was specifically assigned to any of them. This is especially prominent in the video for "Up".
- Cover Version / Charity Motivation Song: The girls released a cover of Depeche Mode's "Just Can't Get Enough" for Comic Relief.
- Creator Backlash: The group has regarded "If This Is Love" as one of their least favourite songs.
- Dancing Is Serious Business: The video for "Higher".
- Earworm: "I only go... UP, UP."
- "I miss missin' you sometimes..."
- "Forever is ooooooooooover"
- Honestly, a good portion of their songs, (their singles especially) are earworms.
- Exhort The Disc Jockey Song: "All Fired Up".
- Fiery Redhead: Una, and Vanessa during the "Wordshaker" era.
- Football Fight Song: "All Fired Up". The title is certainly one for this...
- The Gimmick: The color-coded artwork from the "Chasing Lights" era.
- Glamourous Wartime Singers: The video for "Just Can't Get Enough" plays with this trope as the girls come to life in a calendar. There's also fashion from The Fifties featured as well.
- Hard Drinking Party Girl: Vanessa.
- Hot Mom: Una recently became one. The daddy is rugby player Ben Foden
 ◊ (who is pretty good looking himself).- Rochelle is now set to become one after announcing her pregnancy to husband (and member of Boy Band JLS) Marvin Humes.
- In Da Club: Played straight in "Notorious". Subverted in "All Fired Up" in that while the song is about the club, the video does not take place in one, and is actually rather artsy.
- Older Than They Look: Una turned 30 in 2011, and is a good bit older than the rest of her bandmates.
- For comparison: Mollie, the second-eldest in the band, is five-six years younger (at 25) and Vanessa, the youngest, is eight (at 22).
- Melismatic Vocals: Mainly fom Vanessa, though sometimes from Rochelle and Una.
- Meganekko / Sexy Secretary: The video for "Notorious".
- Most Common Super Power / Rule of Sexy: The video for "Ego".
- Ms. Fanservice: Arguably all of them.
- My Friends... and Zoidberg: Poor Vanessa is subject to quite a bit of this. Although she is known by the general public to be 'the talented one'.
- New Sound Album: Went from a pop-oriented sound to a more 'ravey' sound in On Your Radar.
- Pay Evil unto Evil: "Karma", and the video for "Ego".
- Reality Show: The Sats will receive their own TV series, Chasing the Saturdays, on The E Network.
- Record Producer: Steve Mac & Ina Wroldsen have written and produced nearly all of their singles and album tracks.
- She's Got Legs: In the videos for "Up", "Just Can't Get Enough", "Work", "Missing You", "Higher", "Notorious" and "30 Days".
- Silly Love Songs: Most of their discography is composed of these.
- Singer Namedrop: Flo Rida in Higher:
Hey, Flo Rida/Frankie, Mollie/Una, Vanessa, Rochelle/Whatcha doin', Saturday girl? - Travie McCoy does this for himself and The Saturdays during his feature in "The Way You Watch Me".
- Speed Dating: In the video for "30 Days". Though Una and Rochelle are clearly doing it for kicks, as Una shows off her baby bump and Rochelle her engagement ring to guys they don't particularly like.
- Spiritual Successor: Considered to be this to Girls Aloud by some, but the latter have not parted ways just yet.
- Brian Higgins, the brains behind Girls Aloud's music, wrote and produced "All Fired Up."
- Three Minutes of Writhing: "Just Can't Get Enough", "Work", "Notorious".
- The Show Must Go On: Despite being pregnant during, Una still performed at every date of their All Fired Up Tour.
- We Meet Again: Rochelle and Frankie previously worked together in the pop group S Club 8/S Club Juniors.
- Your Cheating Heart: "Keep Her", "Karma", "Lies".
