-->--Title Track, Enter the Grave

Evile is a British ThrashMetal band credited with kick-starting the second wave of thrash metal alongside MunicipalWaste. They recorded their first album, Enter the Grave, in 2007 with Flemming Rasmussen, the RecordProducer who produced Music/Metallica's second, third and fourth albums. With a well-received first album and a song released on RockBand, they hit a surge of popularity and released a more progressive second album, Infected Nations, in 2009. Tragedy struck when bassist Mike Alexander died on tour, leaving a girlfriend and kids alone. They've continued touring with a new bassist, and released a third album, Five Serpent's Teeth, in 2011.

Their fourth album Skull dropped in late May of 2013. In August, Ol Drake left the band and the band moved on with a replacement.

----
!!Evile presents examples of the following tropes:

* Adorkable: Both of the Drake brothers, especially Matt.
* AlbumTitleDrop: In all albums.
* AnswerSong: "Five Serpent's Teeth" is this to "Now Demolition", both making reference to The Demolished Man.
* BerserkButton: The general consensus for the fans of Evile is that they DO NOT like it when the band is being compared to either Music/Metallica or Music/Slayer. With that being said, it's an aversion with the band, more specifically with Matt Drake: they don't mind being compared to Metallica or Slayer, they're proud people make the comparison.
* BlackDudeDiesFirst: Poor Mike...
* BloodBath: "Bathe in Blood", natch. More specifically, the song is referring to Elizabeth Bathory's baths in blood in order to restore youth and the vanity such an act entails.
* Common Music Video Concepts: The garage rock version of the trope for "Thrasher"
* ContinuityNod:
** There is a riff played halfway into "Long Live New Flesh" that actually comes from "Russian Roulette", which appears in Hell Demo (2006).
** Downplayed with the bass intro to "In Memoriam"; it was used during sound check by Mike Alexander.
* CoverVersion:
** "Cemetery Gates" (see Irony), "Through the Never" and "Lounge Act" for multiple Kerrang! Tribute Albums.
** Entombed's "Drowned" for the Terrorizer Magazine.
** Ex-guitarist Ol Drake has even done heavy metal renditions of Gaga}} Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and "The Edge of Glory".
* DualMeaningChorus: "In Memoriam" but it's more of a dual meaning song; justified that half of the band says that it was written in memory of Mike Alexander, the other half say its more a song about missing your loved ones.
* EpicRocking.
** "We Who Are About to Die", "Metamorphosis", "Genocide" are all over 7:40.
** "Hundred Wrathful Deities" runs at a staggering 11:41.
** "Tomb" is 07:26.
** There is an extended version of "New Truths, Old Lies" in the Amazon edition of Skull running at 7:21.
* EverythingsEvenWorseWithSharks: "Killer from the Deep".
* FadeOut: "Hundred Wrathful Deities", "Cult", and "New Truths Old Lies".
* FadingIntoTheNextSong: "Metamorphosis" into "Hundred Wrathful Deities".
* FanNickname: Due to a typo, Old Rake. Now on a shirt!
* FilkSong[=/=]ShoutOut: Rambo "First Blood".
* GenreRelaunch: They had a large hand in the resurgence of ThrashMetal in the mid 00's, though they were by no means alone.
* GenreShift: "What You Become" is a straight GrooveMetal song.
* Irony: The last song Evile recorded before Mike Alexander died? A cover of "Cemetery Gates".
* GladiatorGames: "We Who Are About to Die" and "Centurion".
* Gorn: "Enter the Grave".
* GutturalGrowler: Their cover of Emtombed's "Drowned", considering how Matt Drake sings, it's a bit of a change. Considered Narm by the older Drake when first tracking vocals.
* HarshVocals: Primarily Enter the Grave.
* HeavyMeta: "Thrasher".
* KneelBeforeZod: In the chorus of "Thrasher".
* MadLibMetalLyrics: A bunch, but the majority come from Enter the Grave.
* ManOnFire: "Burned Alive".
* MetalScream: "Origin Of Oblivion", "Skull", and "Words of the Dead" as Type 4. "Outsider" as a mix between Types 1 and 4.
* MohsScaleOfRockAndMetalHardness: Like most ThrashMetal, about an 8.
** Songs on Infected Nations reach 7 or maybe 6, with "In Memoriam" and "Tomb" at about a 3.
** Parts of "Words of the Dead" may be the closest things the band has done to getting a rating of 9, besides their song "Parasite" and the "Drowned" cover.
* NonAppearingTitle: "Xaraya", "In Memoriam", "Nosophoros", and "Metamorphosis"
* OneManArmy: "FirstBlood." Justified in that its a song about Rambo.
* OneOfUs: Most of the band, but mainly Matt and Ol Drake.
** As an example, the two have briefly argued on which is better, the SNES or the Megadrive.
** Admitted by Matt Drake in an interview, Ben Carter (drummer) is a fan of wrestling/WWE, Joel Graham (bassist) is a fan of Star Wars, Matt is a fan of science fiction in general and computer games, and Ol (lead guitarist) is a music nerd and an avid fan of WesternAnimation/SouthPark.
* ThePlague: "Infected Nation".
* PunBasedTitle: Evile is a portmanteau of Evil and Vile.
* PunctuatedForEmphasis: "I AM THE OUTSIDER!!"
* PutOnABus: Joel Graham. Admitted by Matt Drake in an interview, Evile had played a gig with his old band Ninedenine, and Graham himself used to be a drinking buddy with Mike Alexander. Come 2009, when Evile needed a bassist...
* ReligionRantSong: "Cult", Type 2, sung from the perspective of someone recruiting the listener.
* RobotWar: "Man Against Machine".
* RockBand:
** "Thrasher" was released for DLC. It is quite a difficult song on guitar and bass.
** Ol Drake tracked ALL instruments for ALL the songs in Infected Nations, which was then released on the Rock Band Network.
* SiblingTeam: Matt Drake and Ol Drake are brothers. Both were on guitar until the latter left.
* SingingVoiceDissonance: Usually the case with British vocalists.
* StartMyOwn: Ol Drake left to start a solo shred project.
* TankGoodness: "Armoured Assault".
* TitleOnlyChorus: "Long Live New Flesh", "Now Demolition", "Plague to End All Plagues", "Devoid of Thought", "Burned Alive", and "Bathe in Blood".
* UncommonTime: Since the second album was more progressive, the songs on Infected Nations do this sometimes. This could also be applied to select songs on Skull.
* UnpluggedVersion:` An acoustic version of "In Memoriam" is included on the "Cult" single.
* XMeetsY:
** Enter the Grave is seen as Music/Metallica meets Music/Slayer meets Music/Sepultura and a bunch of others.
** Infected Nations has a similar comparison (Metallica meets Sepultura) but now with a much more darker and slower feel to it.
** Five Serpent's Teeth = Enter the Grave + Infected Nations + melody and catchiness.
** Skull is Five Serpent's Teeth, if it were faster and had the same atmosphere as Infected Nations.
